A member of our team was killed in the line of duty in Iraq this past week. His name was Rob Pirelli. Rob was a goalie like myself and I wanted to wish his family the best of wishes in this time of need. Rob served our military faithfully and I will never forget his sacrifice for his country. The prowler organization will miss Rob and I will miss him as well. Rob, rest in peace and thank you!!

Does anyone have contact info for his family? I played with him in college for two years and he was a big part of our team and a friend. Any info provided would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I will try and find contact information for Rob's family. I believe that his body is being flown back to Boston and services will follow. Any information I find out will be posted for all of those who knew Rob. I will do my very best to find out any and all information and relay it back on the forum. Rob will always be a member of the Prowlers!! He will be missed. Our head coach Bill was notified by someone and I recieved a call from our team captain Shane Hayden. Best bet may be to call Tour arena in Colorado Springs and ask to speak to C.J. Yoder or maybe Brian Yingling, they may have more information on this situation. Plus like I said I will do my best to relay info as I get it.

PS thanks for all those who responded, Dave Garland Coach Clip and so on. This shows that while we may be rivals on the rink we are all here for the same reasons and that we stand by eachother in times of need such as this. Thanks again my PIHA brothers and best of luck to all of you in your future endeavors!!

Oh man. Pirelli was a great friend while I was at Northeastern. He was a huge reason to our success in later years, and absolutely the most dedicated goaltender I have ever worked with. I'll never forget the countless saturday afternoons working on his angles, roadtrips to maine/vermont, his video for FEARfactor, and of course our trip to Colorado.

He was a great guy, and will be truly missed.

Thanks 33.

My condolences go out to Rob's family, friends, and teammates. Rob will truly be missed.

I was lucky enough to be one of the guys Rob called a friend and teammate while we were both at Northeastern and was also his roommate for a year. Like Chi said he was a great goalie in college and a big reason for our success at Northeastern. Rob was a great guy and I still can't believe I am typing this, my thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Rest in peace Rob.

I attended Rob's funeral along with about half of his teammates from NU (some PIHA representation in there also). The services were very nicely done and the town of Franklin was out in full force to honor Rob. The procession made its way to the church through downtown and the streets were lined with people holding American flags and they had a huge flag suspended over the road using two fire engine ladders. It was incredible to see the amount of lives that Rob touched.

His family thanks all of his teammates who "had to put up with Rob" over the years and appreciates all the support they have received from the hockey community.

Also, if anyone has any pictures of Rob from PIHA or another team you might have played on with him please email them to me. His family asked us if we could send over any pictures we have from his Northeastern days and I think it would be nice to get them a sample of all his hockey experience. My email is [email protected] (Burke do you have access to any of the old CRHL national tourney stuff??)
