Wear thick socks. Bake them, or if you dont want to take the wheels off, heat the trouble spots with a hair dryer. Wear "EzeeFit ankle booties" (an ankle strap that speed-skaters use). These are the things I have read and heard about. Any other ideas? Do any of these methods work? I am asking because my first blister is in the process of healing (from my first skate with my new Mission wicked 3's)and I want to know if there is anything i can do to prevent the blisters from reappearing the next time i play. Any advice is much appreciated

Maybe wear big socks, then fold them over so it is twice as thick.

If you have had blisters before, you may notice that they usually occur in the same area on your foot. Everyone's foot is different, so where it occurs is different. With that said, put moleskin where you tend to get blisters. It actually does help. I usually skate on Missions and I usually will take a leather conditioner/oil and rub down the padding around the ankles on the inside of the boot (kind of like you do for a baseball glove). This usually loosens up the padding in there. You should definitely think about baking them though. Getting a snug fit just helps. Sometimes more mentally then in actually tangible performance increases, but it is worth the effort.

I am sure some people will not like this answer but, I would not wear/buy a pair of shoes or sneakers that gives me blisters; so why would I accept that in skates. Most good shoes are made of leather, same as good skates. They should fit properly and not create blisters.

Blisters are created by friction and heat. If your feet are moving around in the skates and they rub on your skin you will get blisters. You need to buy skates that fit properly.

My son is a very "hard" skater, he breaks his boots regularly. He has never had a pair of skates that fit properly that gave him blisters. He skates in 4 leagues per week and tournaments on weekends (2 divisions).

As other people have said bake the skates and form them to your feet. If they give you blisters after that return them and get the right fit.

There is a product out called "blister Guards". I believe you can get them from greatskate.com...not sure how they work, but remember seeing them.
