hey all,

what would be the best way to find a sponsor for my team. currently we are just playing in a mens league, but after I drop 2 or 3 ****ty players and replace them with some good guys, we will have a solid line up, and I want to attend the narch regionals and possibly more.

i see teams like the Hyper Roadrunners... Mission Snipers... etc, how do they go about getting sponsorships?

any ideas?

thanks

Most of the teams that you see, mission and tour are not fully sponsored. For most of the teams, these companies give discount off product. So if you want to be sponsored for an tournament, your going to have to go to local businesses and raise money. Best of luck.

Also...SOME of these teams simply buy Mission jerseys and call themselves the "Mission ____" or whatever the company name is. So be cafeful of that as well.

You also need to remember that you will be competing for sponsorship with teams that have already made a name for themselves at the national level. YOu best bet, at this point, would be to find smaller/more local businesses that could help you out. Maybe they are looking for a tax write-off? I have used this approach for teams that I have coached in the past. Sometimes it works...sometimes it doesn't. Maybe one of the guys on your team works for a "big" compang looking to make some donations?

Not trying to suggest that you CAN'T get money from the big hockey brands, but just giving you the heads up. Hope this helps.
