I'll have to check with the production team. It was filmed more for highlights etc. by Lifetime Media as well as James Lambert.

I'll find out.

you said the film is gonna be used for highlights. Is someone making a highlight film or something? Is anyone doing a highlight film for that matter? i think that would be pretty cool

Basically the following things are/have been happening

1. James Lambert takes films of many of the games and puts clips on youtube. He does a great job!

2. We hired Lifetime Media to put together a few things for us. The first being an incredibly cool edited version of our Division Final (Tornados vs Snipers). The game was shot with over 10 cameras and will have heavy editing, graphics, player profiles, announcing, and even a 'sportscenter-like booth' to go for halftime highlights (all done in post production).

The second thing Lifetime is doing is doing interviews and highlights from about ten playoff games or so. This will all be cut down into two different promotional films.

Finally, next year we are hoping to have full video entrances and there will be a PIHA Game of the week on television (produced how it SHOULD look with all the bells and whistles from an ESPN-or-better broadcast).

If you are looking for some great clips now (along with funny clips and funny commentary) check out www.youtube.com/umslstabb

Hey Dave, if there is any way that he can put the games unedited on a dvd that would be cool. ask him how much it would be if he is able to do this for me. it would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanx,

We had this done earlier this season and what your looking for most likely doesnt exist. When people shoot video for a video highlight reel, they don't record the action in sequence so you can sit and watch the game. Also they are also most likely not going to part with the video as it is there intellectual property. If they are being paid to produce a highlight reel that is all your likely to get from them. Not trying to rain on your parade!

while this may be true, i want to try and see if it is available. if its not then oh well but if it does exist, i want to try and obtain a copy.

I'll look into the full version of the game. Realize it was not taped professionally, but I still can get a copy.

The professional cameras were only for highlights.

I've got the video all captured in raw DV-AVI format, which is way too big to fit on DVDs. As soon as I can get it all encoded and crap, you can have a copy. It might be a while, because I have a lot of video to get through right now (UMSL -- which is supposed to be top priority -- and every Pro and Minor PIHA Gateway playoff game, plus the MO high school championships, etc.).

Usually I don't try to "shoot" the video perfectly, I just aim it and watch....but I tried to make those conference final games look nice. It's all taped in widescreen 16:9 except the third game (for some reason the damn camcorder defaulted back to 4:3 and I didn't realize it until early in the fourth game), and there's all kinds of different angles. It's about as good as you'll get with a little handheld camcorder. And it's all there. 100% of all four games. So you will enjoy it.

I'm not selling video of games that Lifetime Media was taping, because I don't want to hurt their business, nor the relationship between PIHA Gateway and Lifetime Media.

You can have a copy. Might take a few weeks, but I'm not stingy. :)

Usually, the only problem with distributing the unedited video is my filthy and opinionated mouth. I just can't keep it shut. I don't recall anything specific from those games, but that's usually why I wouldn't just distribute a game video without going through it first.

His mouth is quite funny.

He once had to edit out his comments on a DVD he gave me so I got to enjoy two periods of silence and then sound in the third period when he shut up haha.

Seriously, James shoots a REALLY nice game considering he is not a professional. He knows the game extremely well and knows how to shoot it.

If anyone cares that's the Flyers Skate Zone in NE Philly. Can't make out what teams they are but I'm thinking it's from a tourney.
