Hockey Alberta In Line will be hosting the Canadian National Invitational Tournament in Sherwood Park, Alberta, July 13-15, 2007. The Sherwood Park Inline Hockey League (SPINLine) will be serving as the local host.
This event represents the national championship for the National Inline Hockey Association (NIHA) - Canada in the 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U age divisions.
This year's event will represent the fifth installment since the inagural tourney in Chestermere, Alberta back in 2002. At the time, NIHA - Canada consisted of just two provincial branches -- Alberta and Manitoba. British Columbia and Ontario joined in 2004 and 2006, respectively.
With five to as many as nine teams competing in age division, national championship bragging rights are similar in scope to the national ice hockey championships held in Canada each spring.
