The top team in the league will have a different face when it comes time for playoffs. It turns out that they will be missing 4 key faces during the playoffs.

Ziggy Marszalek - 12 gp, 30 points - not enough games played
Mike Cioli - 13 gp - 25 points - not enough games
Greg Kelly - 16 gp - 15 points
And word has it that Brett Leggat (goalie) suffered a broken leg in the last game against Marple in the second period and is finished?

These are huge hits against our league leaders.

How will they cope?

I wanna comment on the Leggat inncident. I was the one on Marple who bumped into him backing up for a deflection shot and my back went into him as I was barely skating, basically gliding back. As I tapped him, my momentum took me right over him. It was very flukey in that it might have been better if I was going full speed because in that sense I woulda have just barreled over him and he would have fell straight back, but what happened instead, I was on top of him and rolled over him and while that happened his body went back as his leg stayed straight and eventually the pressure made his knee collapse. It was a very ackward play. I didnt get a chance to talk to him after the games but was lucky enough to get a response email back from him today. He is back in Canada getting it looked at. The team doctor at his evaluation said the ligaments may be torn. He is getting it looked by another doctor in Canada now. He did say the knee popped when it happened but is a little better today. I hope it is not as serious as expected, and hope for a full and fast recovery to him.

As for the other players, I know ziggy and cioli were not there all this weekend and did not make enough games for playoffs but even without them they are a real solid team and can go far. Best of luck to Pittsburgh and the rest of the teams that make the playoffs this year.

I highly doubt it's broken. We hope to have him back for the playoffs.

I did a little research on the piha site and it appears to me that the Bandits have done quite well without ziggy and mike. In fact, those two only played in about 12 games meaning the Bandits won 18 or so without them (including 2 against a very good harrisburg squad 2 weeks ago). Not sure why they didn't play this past weekend seing as though it would have qualified them for the postseason. It's a shame not having those two around for the playoffs. Its always a good thing for the league having guys like that on the floor.

also... Bretts leg is not broken.

Since were on the rumor mill subject, I've heard from a variey of sources that Sully is done for the growl or at the very least will be incapacitated for the playoffs.. I've seen how they split both series this past weekend so I wonder how it will effect there chances.

Should be an exciting playoffs with so many good teams in each division. Going to be fun seing who gets in with the positioning getting finalized next weekend.

No truth the the Sully rumors. He is fine, played this past weekend, and will be playing throughout the playoffs. Not sure how this rumor started.

The only injuries we've had recently is Bobby Beauchamp who cut his arm at work and the stiches come out this thursday. He will be fine.

Ray Katinsky wrenched his back playing ice hockey last week and he was placed on the IR. It is unsure if he will play this weekend against boston for the final game or whether he will just rest it until the playoffs.
