word on the street is that Stony Brook had 2 illegal players on their team as they won the gold...I dont know why they were illegal or whatever, just something I have heard being passed around and was wondering if anyone had any details...

No one on their roster was illegal. Spreading unsubstantiated rumors like this really hurts the credibility of the league - if you have serious concerns about something like this, contact the NCRHA directly.

The guys on SB that won the title were the same guys that played all season. There were no illegal players. Why do people make stuff up?

Maybe 'illegal' is a new pseudonym for 'better'.

Because they can't stand to be beat by a team that nobody gave credit to all season. This team broke their ass all year long. Total dedication by all their players to become better. Anyone can check stats for the season, compare them to the rosters for the nationals. Crap like this is just sore losers spewing s**t out with nothing to back it up. Trying to justify why they got beat. Give credit where credit is due, this team should be an example for others to follow, a good group of guys who showed class and sportsmanship throughout the season, unlike alot of other teams I witnessed this year. They worked hard came together as a team and won the division, the region, and now the nationals. Sorry to those who feel they were cheated, you weren't, you just flat out got beat. Ask anyone who played them this season and they'll tell you this team didn't need to cheat to win. Now get to practice and better luck next year.

Thats not cool to call someone out like that, before putting yourself in stonybrooks shoes. They were a classy team that worked real hard and never got any credit all the way to the finals of nationals... And then winning nationals and still having something retarded come up that takes away from the job they did during the season. And to have a few bad words to say about it is fine with me.

You guys are pathetic. I've watched Stonybrook play all year and they've been legit from the start. They were the best team at Regionals and Nationals and deserved to win. Give them their due, please.

All players must compete in a minimum of six (6) NCRHA-sanctioned games in order to be eligible for post-season play. Regular season and exhibition games played during the dates of the regular season shall count towards the 6-game requirement. Post-season play includes Member Organization championship tournaments and the Collegiate Roller Hockey National Championships.
This is likely what AJ's talking about here. Like it or not, there are some inconsistencies that make you wonder. The words in bold would likely be the hitching post for any official complaint, but I digress. This should definitely be handled behind closed doors and I will gladly delete my post if everyone involved chooses to do so.

This is just ridiculous now. First off, Archie (#5) has been there the entire spring semester. Since my brother coaches the team, I was able to join them for practices when I was home in NY in January and during my spring break in March. Archie was a part of this team the entire semester and did get his 6 games in. Now, I'm unsure of what games those were, but I'm sure someone has that information.
Second, attacking the club on this situation, on this messgae board, is the wrong way to go (especially coming from someone on the ECRHA board of Directors). There is a much more professional way to approach this situation. Before pointing fingers or accusing anyone of anything, I think the facts need to get straight and proper documentation should be displayed. Regardless, this is definitely not the way to approach the situation.
The club was successful and they were successful within the rules of the league. If we want to talk about rules being broken, well, I can go on all night.
Congrats Stonybrook - you guys deserve it.

If that's the case, then that has got to be some kind of record turnaround. Going from nothing at all to lighting up some of the nation's best teams (ranked #s 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, and 14) on our biggest stage? That's quite the accomplishment, and might as well be noted. Speaking of which, when are the All-Tournament Teams going to be posted?

If anyone should know about the number of inconsistencies in our stats, it'd be you, AJ.
Kaleszic was listed as #0 on the roster for most of the semester despite the fact that he was wearing #5 - most of his stats got credited improperly to someone else (stat pro Bill Bourque didn't have these sheets for entry, apparently) and unlike most of the stat ****** on the message board, he didn't complain about them because he really didn't care. Otherwise I suppose this whole thing wouldn't be a mess in the first place.
I think just about any team who played Stony Brook in the second semester could vouch for remembering him being out there - in my opinion he's one of the top forwards in the ECRHA, division notwithstanding.
Please, feel free to post said tapes if they show he wasn't out there. Otherwise, can we stop posting this drivel?
If a player like that showed up out of nowhere it would have been a major problem and would have been brought up at regionals, long before nationals.

I know it was posted on another thread, but Ardjent Kalezic, not a single goal, assist, or penalty minute in 8 games throughout the course of the season, including 2 B games, and then 15 goals, 13 assists, 3 PPGs and a shortie, 13 star points (whatever that is), and 24 penalty minutes in 12 playoff games? And the scores of the games he played in:
Hofstra L 1-2
Army W 7-5
Maine W 11-2
Brockport W 10-1
Briarcliffe W 8-1
UConn W 9-2
Hofstra Blue (game stats not entered for this game)
Suffolk B L 3-6
So his team scored 49 goals, and he didn't get a single point in ANY of those games? So, now no offense to any of those teams above, but he wasn't able to get anything in all those lopsided games, but he manages to net 2 in the 3rd period against Neumann in the ECRHA championship game? And another 2 against UMSL? And a goal and an assist against Nevada? So he can get 5 goals and 2 assists against the past 3 national champions, but in 3 lopsided games he did nothing....
Now, I also happen to have those Hofstra- Stony Brook games on video. I would love to see how we played defense against #5 in those games, because man, we must know the secret on how to stop this guy. Unfortunately, I only have the video from those 2 games, but if anyone else has their games on tape, I'd love to see them. Because I'm sure he played in at least 6 regular season games, thereby making him eligible for the regional and national playoffs, despite the fact that he did literally nothing against all of those teams.
First off I have to say that this is just stupid that I have to spend time to defend my team on the championship we worked hard all year to earn but i'll answer the questions that were asked.....
Secondly no offense to the league or any of the officials and scorekeepers but we all know what a terribly poor job of keeping stats they did throughout the year.So if Archie did not register a point or anything in any regular season games there could be the fact that the stats are horribly innacurate...if you check some of those game you'll see how our goalie scored two power play goals in one game and was assissted by a player on our B team, interesting.
I was there and i know Archie participated in 7 regular season events....
agaisnt Hofstra, Army, Maine, Brockport, Briarcliffe, Conniticut AFF and Wentworth...all events from the second half off the season...
Archie was also primarily an ice hockey player who hasn't played roller hockey in quite a while so getting acquited with the transition to roller might also have to do with the slow start.
I have every game on tape fromthe whole season if you want to study them And no Hofstra you dont have a secret or strategy to stop anyone(as shown by your performance at nationals) you guys just play the slowest trap slow down the momentum game and not alot of goals were scored in either game we played agaisnt you, 2-1 and 3-2....
The bottom line is we worked hard all season with the talent we had, played hard games, got some lucky bounces and never quite, we beat some super talented team, Nuemann, Hofstra, USML and Drexel to name a few, we won some and lost some but we never made excuses either way and people need to stop trying to find a way to making excuses for us winning, we won get over it!
