Since at the beginning of the season everybody ranked where they felt teams would end up lets see what you guys have to say now. Its basically a midway point as most teams have played half their games. Whats your thoughts. I am avoiding the division my team is in since my opinion is biased but here are the other divisions.

Colorado

1. Prowlers
2. Catz
3. Fire

Northeast

1 - Growl
2 - Roller Rats
3 - Blaze
4 - Bombers
5 - Grizzlies
6 - Minutemen
7 - Fire Ants

* Tough to choose here, but I left the Grizz out of the playoffs, because they seem to struggle offensively and they play the Ants two less then everyone else.

Mason Dixon

1 - Bandits
2 - Lunatics
3 - Inferno
4 - Gladiators
5 - Fury
6 - Pottstown
7 - Richmond
8 - Typhoon

* Again very tough. I liked Pottstown, but their two losses to York may haunt them. Likewise the three losses to richmond could cost Feasterville as well. I think Scottsdale is better then everyone thought and the Glads still have York six more times.

Gateway

1 - Snipers
2 - Tornados
3 - Pythons
4 - Whalers
5 - Flying Monkeys

* These are just guesses, but it seems obvious that the Monkeys will be left behind come playoff time.

Rocky Mountain

1 - Blizzard
2 - Prowlers
3 - Thunder
4 - Catz
5 - Fire

* I still believe that the Blizzard are the best team in the division, when i look at the rosters. The Fire and Thunder seem to be the least consistant, but I gotta believe that ying and Yod will step it up as much as needed.

I think someone already asked this but how does the playoffs work.

I believe its the top 4 teams from each division. Then, the first 2 rounds are within your division, the 3rd round would be NE Div. Vs. MD Div. and RM Div. vs GW Div. to determine who plays in the final. However I dunno how it works as far as series and everything. And all this is provided the Canadian Div. doesn't play. If they are in, I don't know how it works.

This is how i think it works but I'm not exactly sure. Personally I think this is something that should be clearly posted on the piha website since alot of people including myself don't really know how it works.

I think last year all the series were best of 3 and the finals was best of 5... i dont really see it changing this year, it seemed to work well... and the Canada West division is as good as dead seeing as how it's been removed from the website. without them, the playoff structure seems pretty clear...

the conference finals were best of 5 last year as well as the finals... i heard they wanted the finals to be best of 7 but for some reason they werent... i dunno there is always a small chance i made that up, but i thought it was true lol

All true. THe division playoffs are schedule to be best of three series, all in one day at the high seed rink. The conference finals will be in the Philadelphia region for the east and in st louis for the west. Specific rinks have yet to be determined. These series are scheduled to be best of 5 over two days.

The finals location is still undetermined, but the series was scheduled to be best of 5. The league wanted a best of 7 but since they were sub-leasing rink time from AAU, they were only able to get a best of five. With a new location, perhaps that will change to a best of seven.

This is all I know!

I can only talk about Gateway..... Tornados have played a LOT of more games than any one else in the division.

Saying that, Snipers, Whalers and Pythons are VERY Strong teams. Snipers win #1, 2-4 is a toss up. Monkeys are in a bit over their heads. If the Snipers dont win, I will blame it all on Garland... j/k

I feel that I should only comment on what I have seen within my own division, which is the Mason Dixon Division. I know this may be a bit biased but just by watching the Pro games for the Express I have learned alot about the league. Penalties Kill!!! I would say that almost 100% the time the Express are even strength they can win, with a few exceptions of course. Then on the other hand, when they are penalizied a game can be lost. A lot of the series they split, they usually lose close, then win big. The main reason being the first game they get penalized and lose, the second game they adapt and win. NOT trying to make any excuses, just stating what i see. So if they can stay out of the penalty box i think they have a great shot at making the playoffs.

Predictions:
1. Bandits
2. Lunatics
3. Pottstown
4. Fury
5. Glads
6. Inferno
7. Typhoon
8. Robins

Definitely think 3-6 could get mixed up. There's no way of telling what will happen. Just hope for some more great hockey.

Go Express!!!

That is last year Snake... this is a whole new year. I believe I picked the Inferno for 3rd place earlier on this post. You can rest assure however that your addition to the team had no influence on my prediction... haha I'm sure your anxious to get on the golf course, but just be patient my friend.

So if playoffs started and the standings were like these. Then the playoffs would look like this.

1st Round
Philly vs Mass
Boston vs Conn
Pitt vs Scots
Harr vs Marple

how would the second round go then. based off of seeds would it look like this

2nd Round
Philly vs Boston
Pitt vs Harr

Northeast

1. Philadephia
2. Boston
3. Connecticut
4. Massachuesettes

5. NJ Grizzlies
6. NJ Minutemen

2. Harrisburg
3. Gladiators

much better flynner... although this year i'm more focused on tennis... and my addition to the inferno is about as significant as the penguins adding ziggy palffy last season or the flyers adding peter nedved this year... contribution in name only lol...

Hey Dave.... am I far off on the Gateway division? I mean you do play for Snipers, but on paper you should be the strongest team. Right now it seems like its a real mixed bag of who just wants to win. In playoffs the real team(s) will step up.

I said from the beginning the STL division is much stronger than any one can imagine.

I do want to give kudos out to some of my friends on the Bandits, Dustin and Jason Roux, Brock Wilson, Redstreake, and Hammer... and get well soon Mitch.

Sully keep it it! you are a machine!!

Roy,

You are definitely right in terms of the parity in the division! Every night is a battle. I wouldn't say any team is the best right now until we get later in the season. One thing I can assure, if any team has an off night, they will lose...the competition is that good!
