This is a PIHA message board thing...but all you hear about is the pro division...I know thats the most dominate part of the league, Im not taking anything away from that, but the minors are still pro, at least in my opinion....but what is everyones thoughts about the Minor teams and some of the top players? Who do you think is a stand out on the teams/league?

I know JJ Fichter for the Growl is an awesome minor player... he has great hands... he could play on most pro teams. I actually think he may be hurt right now.

I know of two guys on my team (Express) who are great players. Tim Missimer could be one of the best set-up guys in the Minors and Nate Klusewitz is probably one of the fastest guys out there and has an amazing shot. Maybe a little bias bc I see these guys every week. As for teams, so far everything seems pretty even. Marple's record doesn't show it but they are a good team. Have not played the Bandits yet, but from the looks of their record they will probably be very tough to beat. Looking foward to the second half of the season.
Go Express!!

I'd definitely have to mention from down here in VA Jonathan Cauthorne and Jordan Snead, who has some of the sickest hands I've seen...both should definitely be cracking the pro roster in the next couple of years

the lunatics have made quite a turn-a-round from last season. i know there is a lot of new talent on the pro squad, and some guys moved down. they have a couple guys in the league leader board. i think it might come down to them and pittsburgh for top spot in the division.

JJ Fichter has to be considered one of the best if not the best player in the minor leagues. He could have easily played for ISCA pro this season but decided to play minors with the Growl, at least for this season. It sucks that JJ is hurt and may be out for the remainder of the season, but talent wise, he is a gifted player. Anyone that plays with and against and practices with Sean Sullivan as much as JJ does will become a great offensive force in any league. There are other talented players that have come through the minors such as Sean Sullivan, and Jim Redstreake of the Bandits and they are both doing well for themselves in the Pro division. So again, Charlie may have something big here if he keeps himself motivated to make it better.

A couple of guys who just started playing PIHA with the Glads are going to make a pretty good impact. Matt Grossi ,John Bright and Rocky Aquino should help that team out.

I believe that JJ Ficther has better hands than 90 % of the pro players, including myself. He also shoots rockets and has great finishing ability from just about anywhere on the rink. I think that combination of offensive skills makes him the most feared indivdual player in the minor leagues. With that said, he still makes far too many mistakes, and gets way too emotional when things aren't going his teams way. I know that JJ is injured right now, and he is eager to come back, quickly. I hope he takes his time, and comes back at full strenght. I also want to see him work on his conditioning, as I feel it will help him play at a high level late in games. I think at age 21, with a hunger to take his game to the next level, he will be a great player in any division, in the coming years, if the heeds the advice of an older player, like me.

I think the minors top players discussion should wait a bit. in the next few days there will be many players that currently play minors that will no longer be able to.
Take a look at the top 40 or so players in the minors. If they contribute at a decent level in the pros they most likey will not be able to play minors anymore.

Points don't always determine the value of a player......I have zero points on my minor team. As a defenseman who spends most of his time on PK1, I'd like to think that I am just as valuable to my team as anybody else is.

Part of that may be your team owners fault. Every owner can write as many articles they want for the PIHA site. What better way to recognize your grinders and 'charlie hustle' players? The minor team pages on the site have their own spaces for articles.
Otherwise how else does the general league get to know players? The leaderboard.
Whether that is right or wrong that is how it is.
IHC is a great place but there are probably only 40 or 50 guys that visit and post here regularly. get more of your team mates to.

2 young men that play minors and are very capable of playing pro is the pederson twins. they currently play for the prowlers minor division. as soon as they are old enough we will welcome them with open arms. these two brothers have been playing inline hockey for quite a few years with oneanother and they are looking forward to putting their name on the prowlers pro roster next season.

I am gonna put a vote out there for Zach Rohrbaugh of the lunatics. He has been in the top of the minors since coming in and has always made a contribution no matter where he plays. I have seen him score some nice goals and have seen him become a pretty good passer this year. Just thought i would throw a vote out there for a fellow teammate

Well, here I go throwing out some of my players...
You need a solid D man... Mo Milici all the way.
You need a blazing foward... Travis Arnold.
You need a solid 2-way player... Ethan Lesher.
You need a sick keeper to keep you in games... Mitchell Reinhold.
Not to slight any of my other players because I think we have a very solid squad... but these four show-up to play every night strictly in the minors. Look for these kids to be making an impact when they are of age to play pro's.
