We need 100 responses to this, my daughter, a player herself for over 11 years, is performing a statistical analysis for her high school IB Mathematics term essay.
She needs respondants (please be one!) to answer:
"handedness:" left or right, or does not apply...
1. in writing
2. strong foot in soccer
3. play in hockey
4. swings a golf club
5. swings a baseball bat
6. throws a ball
No need to identify yourself by name, screen name will do, but please only respond a single time, to avoid skewing of the survey model. Thanks in advance for everybody's help.
Cailtin will also be at the NARCh Winternationals next week handing out survey cards (She plays in the Women's division). So, if a small blond person comes up to you, please be nice and helpful, one hockey player to another.
Thanks!
-Danny

Interestinly enough, I read somewhere (cant find the article) that something like 93% of NHLers have their strong hand (writing hand) on top. The article also said that having the strong hand on the botton is directly correlated with concussions (see Lindros family). I would love to find the article to help you out (anyone else see this??)

I don't know anything about genetics, but my theory is that since I am a visual learner, I became a lefty at motions that I observed someone doing while facing them (writing, swinging a bat, etc.), while I am a righty at motions that I simply copied (kicking a ball).
