i am 6'0 160lbs and primarily a wrist/snap shot shooter. I have been using the easton ultra-lites for 10 years now. they have always been 100 flex. i am looking at buying the new ultra lite but should i get the 85 flex instead? I have never tried an 85 flex, always just went with the 100. Would i notice any difference, or would it be wise for me to go to the 85 flex?

no one has any input? i have another real noobie question...if i need to cut down my new ultra lite shaft, i cut from the butt end correct?

the lower flex will make the shaft feel "whippier - bendier" at least that's the scientific term...I have a long story about the difference between a Carl Yastremski 33 vs. the Harmon Killebrew 33, but the upshot is stick flex is entirely personal preference...go with what you find you like. I have used from 75 to 115, and they all work okey-dokey.

Keep in mind that a cut shaft will produce an "end hole" that is slightly smaller than the "flared" end that comes from the factory, regardless of which end you cut...also, to answer your question more directly, there is no difference between which end you cut.

Sorry for a delay in your getting an answer...it gets slow in the board sometmes.

For me, the 85 flex in Easton Shafts is the ONLY way to go. I am 6'2" and weight about 215lbs. The "whip" I can get with th 85 flex is incredible, and has added MPH's to my slap shot. I was using a Z-Bubble 85 flex, but I'm quite certain your results will be the same. If you've never tried the Z-Bubble...do it. It's probably the most amazing shaft I've ever used.
