The reason for this change is to put the suspension period in the hands of the League Disciplinary Committee for review on a case-by-case basis, rather than an automatic suspension (previously 2 games).

*Note --- any penalty for Fighting suspends the player until a case is heard and suspension dealt. Therefore, if you fight you could be suspended from any further games on a weekend if a hearing is not held before your next scheduled game(s). Another clarification is that you may not participate in ANY games while suspended. In other words, you could not be called up to play in a Pro game or play down in a Minor game while a hearing is pending or while under suspension.

Amendment to Rule 28(d) concerning the automatic suspension for Fighting:

December 10, 2007

PREVIOUS RULE READS:

Rule 28 ? Major Penalties

(d) A Major plus a Game Misconduct penalty shall be assessed for ?Fighting.? Fighting also carries a mandatory 2 game suspension plus the possibility of a fine after investigation by the League Disciplinary Committee.

NEW RULE READS (the change is in bold):

Rule 28 ? Major Penalties

(d) A Major plus a Game Misconduct penalty shall be assessed for ?Fighting.? Fighting also carries a mandatory suspension hearing plus the possibility of a fine after investigation by the League Disciplinary Committee. Any player penalized for Fighting shall not participate in any PIHA activities until said hearing is held.

It's not played all that different than NARCh/TORHS Pro, and you wouldn't call that a glorified house league would you? Of course not, you're not that stupid, right?

Plus you can't legalize fighting in any league that permits participants to wear full facial protection. :D

well there actually is a contract that is supposed to be signed... and a glorified house league? i can tell you that this season our minor team could beat every MLRH team... PIHA has all of the talent as far as the two leagues are concerned so to make a statement like that with no actual facts is a little ridiculous.... i have been a PIHA hater before... but with things going how they are this season, i do not see how anyone could frown upon the league this time around.

I think ALLLLL 4 teams in the MLRH would get beat by any Pro or Minor team in PIHA.....check or no check.
