It doesn't look as if our season is going to start until early March. Becasue most of the players up here play ice hockey at this time of the year, starting our season at this point wouldn't be a good option. Most of the players in our league wouldn't be able to balance both schedules had we started the season in conjunction with the rest of the PIHA.

So how is that going to work? The Canadien teams are going to play 32 games in 5 weeks? Or are they going to play a shortened season and still be able to play for the PIHA championship?

The initial schedule that I have been sent has each team playing 32 games in time to still compete with the American teams for the PIHA championship. In fact, it seems as if Edmonton is going to be the host for the series between the Rocky Mountain Div. and the Canada West Div. for the right to play in Florida.

No Worries! The initial talk when we learned that we would be joining the league was that we would start at the same time as everyone else but there was not enough buy in from a lot of the players that play ice hockey. I think this is the best way to go about this and hopefully it'll work out well this season but only time will tell.
