awesome games....watch out the express are very FAST! The pace to all games was very quick....they will be a tough nut to crack for all teams. Big ups to the minor league team, playing four games at that pace is tough, they showed alot of heart and kept digging all night.

actually the pro scores for the Lunatics and Express are incorrect kicksave.
game 1
Lunatics 6 - Express 2
game 2
Lunatics 5 - Express 1
Thank you. You would all do best on these threads to wait to see the actual websites scores before screaming your victories. Same goes for predictions, and rankings of players?? I understand players doing it....its smack talk, good fun. But coaches and management?......(raises an eyebrow)

First, I just want to congratulate the Lunatics guys on great games this weekend, I wasn't able to make the trip but I heard every detail about the games. I would like to say one thing though about the scheduling of the games, I know it might sound like I'm being a baby, but I don't see how it's fair that one week a team can play the Minor Tic's A team (RL) first and be fresh for the better team and then play the weaker team second. And then the next weekend a team has to play the weaker team first, get pretty tired, and then have to go out and play a very strong A team. I'm not trying to sound like a baby but I just wish that our guys had a chance to play the better team first and be fresh rather than having to play two games and then go out and play the better team second. Like I said I dont mean to be critical of the scheduling because I know that it might not be fair for the weaker team to always play second, but it does kind of make more sense, because I know to some of our guys, we felt that the first two games they were trying to tire us out before we had to play the RL. But all in all I still say they were great games, just wish we had a crack at the RL first...

Allow me to shead some perspective on this, as I feel I have ample experience regarding this subject.
Last season we ran two minor teams and frequently had to schedule these minor double headers. We decided before the scheduling meeting last year to schedule one team always before the pro and the other always after the pro game. We felt at the time that it would get players used to playing at a particular time, create less confusion, and generally help us run smoother organizationally because some of the people on the 2nd team were involved in helping the organization run. If we had to do it again, I would absolutely do it the way the Tics did it this year. All we heard last year from our players was complaints about always having the late game or the first team cpmplaining like you are that the second has an advantage. Had we balanced it out then no one would have had an arguement.
As for what your saying, it's a pretty baseless arguement if you ask me. It's not up to any of us to judge the strength of these teams and then use that assessment as the foundation of our arguement. Let's for a second conseed what you are saying, if the Tics were really trying to take advantage of the situation, then they would have scheduled every night like that. Looks to me like they took the high road and your team appeared to catch the least desirable of the two possible schedules... in your opinion! Chalk it up to bad luck, let's not turn IHC into a soap box for excuses. Just be thankful that you are getting four road games in one trip, that's better then making another trip later in the year. Good luck to you guys in the weeks to come.

It is most unfortunate that the schedule falls in that matter when you or any team has to play against our Lunatics minor league teams. I dont think it is crying at all, but I do want to explain how the schedule was set up and how we view each of the two minor league teams.
The Lunatics held tryouts with a very large selection of players, all of which were willing, committed, and financially able to participate in PIHA and all of which wanted to experience a higher level of hockey. Not unlike anyone trying out anywhere. Being that PIHA is a great vessel for building a professional franchise system in its structure, with the option to add a second minor team, as other teams had last year. We asked, why should good players that are willing in all facets of commitment be turned away and left with a bad taste in their mouths for the league when they can instead experience it. So after selecting the Ragin Lunatics, we offered each player who was not selected the chance to still play if there was enough interest and enough bodies who still wanted to compete and experience it, but on a seperate team, thus forming the Screamin Lunatics. Within two days I had a full commited team. From this day forward, we have viewed, conducted, practiced, and treated each team equally as we would our pro Lunatic team.
Not as a 1st minor and a 2nd minor team, but as an organization with two seperate minor teams, that share a division, and yes compete against each other at some point. Is one stronger than the other? Yes. With just a little more experience the other will and already is becoming a formidable foe. Game one this weekend for example. 4-3 loss vs Express minors.
Last year other teams had 2 minor league teams as well, and as we had our tryouts in August, well before all of PIHA, we expected as such again. This was not the case, which threw a bit of a monkey wrench into scheduling as you could imagine. But with all of the above said, we also wanted to treat the schedule fairly to both of those teams, so we arranged it so that each date that games are held, home or away, both would have alternating early and late games throughout the season. Nothing was preordained however to use or design one team to tire a team for the other. Im simply not that clever. I do feel that having two minor teams is a future strength for the entire Lunatics Club in the future, as this is the purpose of the minor system. Develop future players for PIHA pros. Logistically its a nightmare and extra work, but the benefits of a big happy, fun loving Lunatic family is incredible and if possible will do it all over again next year as well.

Very well put Todd. Your organization during our home opener was first class from the minute you guys pulled into the parking lot to the moment you guys left. Congrats on the wins this weekend.

I have to agree with Sportsplex 100% That was a great post and now that you have put it that way I understand completely and can see that it would probably suck to have to play the late game everytime, and see why you split the schedule like that. Still hope to catch the RL first next time, not saying anything would be different lol because who really knows. Like I said before, great job to all the Tic's becuase from what I heard they were all good games, wish I could have been there, and am looking foward to seeing you guys later in the year. Best of luck.

I do not mean to be a jerk or anything about the whole thing of playing both Lunatics minor teams in one night. Our schedule has us playing one team first and than the other games start 2 hours later after our first games have ended(possibly longer depending on how fast the first games go). If guys are in that bad of shape that they can not play another game in 2 hours because of being tired than maybe they should get in better shape. To me it is no different than going to a tourney and having the same situation occur, and yet no one seems to complain about it when they are in a tourney. Just my thought about the whole thing.

At a torney everyone plays multiple games and when you get to the playoffs everyone has played about the same number of games.
So the tornament thing I see where you are coming from but I really don't agree.
Is it an advantage to play half of your regular season games against a team that played a game earlier that evening??? YES
Did the Lunatics do this on purpose??? No
Can this be avoided(without a scheduling nightmare)??? No
Would I have it any other way?? No
Will this happen in the playoffs??? No
On sat. nite we skated against the S-Lunatics first. Games were up and down the floor (not much slow it down type play). I was tired ,but then again I am 34 years old and slightly big boned.
Then we had about a 2 hr break (where my legs seamed to tighten up a bit)
We went out for warmups for our second set of games and I noticed everyone didnt have the same jump in their step.
Then we lost 8-0
In game two we lost 4-2 and skated much better.
Would this have been any different if we only had one game???
Who knows??? Who cares??? Congrats to the Lunatics !!!
We get to play again next weekend against the Inferno on sat then the Robbins on sun. I cant wait .
