View Full Version : PIHA players in NARCh/TORHS Pro
I'm just curious about some players in PIHA and who/where/when they have played in NARCh and TORHS Pro. I'm thinking especially about the Growl, players like Jimmy Vivona, Ray Katinsky, and Joe D'Aloisio. Also John Pinheiro of Connecticut. Since they are some of the biggest names in PIHA along with the names I recognize from NARCh/TORHS Pro like Yoder, Yingling, Ciolli, etc, it seems like they've probably competed in Pro tournaments before. I'm just wondering who they've played for.

I played a few regional tournaments with the Mudcats. Steve Ying, Mazer, Keving Hollinbush also have played from our team. I believe that Kevin Spain has as well but not sure if it was in the pro division. I believe thats it from the Tics.

Actually all of those guys play on the Savage Wolves in Torhs Pro and Narch Senior Platnium... i'm also glad to see that Ray gets some recognition, don't hear much about him usually. The wolves roster for Torhs Pro Winter nationals and Narch winter nationals this year is made up entirely of PIHA players...
Sean Sullivan (growl)
Ray Katinsky (growl)
Bill Katinsky (growl)
Bobby Beachamp (growl)
Kenny Meyer (growl)
Joe D'alosio (growl)

Jimmy McGrath (grizzlies)
Brain Troholidays (grizzlies)
Matt Mckeon (grizzlies)
Kyle D'alosio (minutemen)

To follow up what Billy said, the Growl is definitely made up of several players with "top tier" Pro experience on a consistent basis. After those guys, the rest of the roster is more of a "second tier" Pro level if you will, like Narch Mens Platinum and Torhs Pro (Tier 2).
My only real "Pro" experience has come with either the Wolves, Growl (Torhs WinterNat's) or couple throw together "Pro" teams to fill a tournament spot. Only the Wolves have been consistent as of late.
For the most part I'm a spectator when it comes to watching the top tier Pro teams/guys play in the various tournaments.

Most of the pro players on the Gateway teams have either played platinum at NARCh, Division 1 at TORHS, Team USA Juniors/Mens at one point or another over the past five or six years. There are more to this list as well.

I never understood why. I was always pulling for you to play with a certain team...and that was probably around 2000 or so. Everyone knows how good you are dude. Just an FYI, I accept paypal and money orders only.

Ok I'll get right on that! lol :p
I was just talking to my girlfriend about this last night, all the "what ifs" of playing roller hockey at an amateur level. Sometimes its just a case of being in the right place at the right time or knowing the right guys.
Thats why its really great to be a part of PIHA now. Sure, it isn't at the level of Narch Pro (yet) but with so many teams and the minor league, it gives a lot more players a chance to shine and get noticed. With its structure, website and the amount of interest and dedication of people involved, it offers something that the Tournament's can't over a longer period of time. It'd be great to be center stage at a Narch Pro final but this league will gain a certain amount of respect also as it continues to grow and build a following.

Keep it up and I will spam this thread too. You get all emotional, damn. Do you still drink the pink "drinks" with the umbrellas?

Great point! This league puts the spotlight on our teams 16 nights minimum a year. While TORHS and NARCh are great, there are only two major events each year and maybe the teams play a small handful of regionals. PIHA is hopefully helping to change the scope of inline hockey.

Tro, don't confuse emotional with intelligent. For example, your last several posts vs. mine. :p
And for what it's worth, I've moved on to Jack and Cokes thank you very much.

It sure beats the hell out of skunked Tecate from your days as a delivery boy. LOL. Ounce for ounce, penny for penny, Natty Turbo...#1 beer in America. If they'd only come up with Natty Light Ice, I then could say I am on a diet.
You still digin' the Boy bands Tro?

Rocker I was young and easily influenced now I am old and stubborn...they are still pretty cool.
Joey, hmm, forget it. I would argue with you on here but I dont think IHC has enough space on here to withstand your rants. Its like when the old lady hangs herself in Airplane when Stryker is explaining "That fateful night over Mucho Grande".
