Joining League

I just heard about this league yesterday, is there any way to join without being drafted or having tried out? and how do I go about joining?

Which league are you talking about? If you're talking about PIHA, most teams already held tryouts and are practicing for the upcoming season. But if you still wanna try to jump on a team, I'd suggest going on http://www.thepiha.com (http://www.thepiha.com/) or http://www.powerplaystats.com/org/thepiha/ and trying to contact one of the team's representatives to see if there are any spots available or you can get in on a tryout.

Thanks for the interest in the league! For this season rosters/draft/tryouts are complete but come check out the games and hopefully next year you will be able to try out!

WOW!! I dont know if this is a double post of not .... for some reason it didnt show the first time.

I had the honor and priviledge of show up for the First PIHA Draft! This was absolutely best event I have ever attended! Congratulations to everyone! Special Kudos got you Dave Garland! You did this right and made it and overwhelming success..

From the start with PIHA Gateway Commissioner Ron Beilsten welcoming the huge gathering of guests this was a night made for the love of the game! You had Bob Carroll emceeing this event and every player from Pro to Minor was called out and photos were made for this spectacular night.

To sit there and the the greatest the Midwest has to offer with complete National recognition on every team. The Owners, Rob Ferrara(Tour Blast) Perry Turnbull( NHL/RHI/USA), Ian Makie (MOIHA/Narch/AAU), Rick Matteson (Tour Cobras/ TORHS) can only give this even MORE excitement for this game. Tim McManus will love to see that the "Snipers" have Greg Thompson, Tommy Bruce, Josh Matteo..... they may leave NY but they still do it "Sniper Style" .

I can guarantee the ANY of these teams can and will possibly beat ANY teams out there. Every team is loaded. If you cant tell I was completely blown away!!

Again, Dave Garland who absolutely work his butt off to get this going should be so very proud of what was accomplished. For a young man to have this much saavy and the class of which he shows was one that many of us older men could learn from. This is how this sport is to grow. to pass the torch into the more than capable hands of fine young men to have a dream and vison.

Benchman, what big name players are on what teams? Im curious to see who Thompson,Bruce,Hill,Fudge,Beilstein, and the others are playing for.

EVERY team is going to be strong. I can tell you that. If you just think about the Collegiate hockey scene here in STL.....I dont care if it D-1/D-2/D-3 or B EVERY team is loaded. Heck some of the BEST Minors too.... how would you like to have a starting "Minor" team with PJ Tallo? Only because of him not being 18 is he there...its a sick sick world here!!

I think Dave Garland has stated that in the next couple of days photos and team would be up on on of the website.

Thanks for the kind words, the event hit way beyond expectations!

The rosters will be posted this week and photos when I get them from our photographers. We will have the schedule done very soon as well.

I will post most stuff on the myspace page (www.myspace.com/pihagateway (http://www.myspace.com/pihagateway)), until the *new* PIHA site is done which will be very soon.

The talent in the league is awesome.
