Does anyone think there will be any more rule changes in the NHL. The only rule I feel should be cahnged is the trapazoid that limits were goalies can play the puck. I would also like to see a bigger emphesis on interference. Espically when a guy is going after the puck and gets held up.

Hey John,

What are your thoughts on the trapezoid? I think that the less the goalie touches the puck out of the crease, the better. I have a feeling you disagree. /wtimages/icons/wink.gif

They did a pretty good job of cutting down on obstruction this past season, but anything they can do to let the speedy players spin their magic, the more I like it.

Richard,

You are right i disagree with the trapazoid. I do not feel that it has changed the game that much. It feel alowing goalies to play the puck anywhere makes teams skate the puck in instead of dumping it in. Plus, if they allow players to skate to the puck without being blocked then that limits what goalies can do too. Maybe they should look at roller hockey as a way to improve the game.

Hi John,

I'm not a big fan of dump and chase either, but I'd rather see battles in the corner than passes from the goalie to the defensemen.

Anything to cut down on obstruction is a good thing -- as long as the players don't start diving like those actors in World Cup soccer. How it's not cheating when they get up five seconds after being carried off on stretchers is beyond me -- and I'm a big World Cup soccer fan.

The trapizoid is the worst rule ever. Its like telling pitchers they can't throw curve balls because batters are having trouble hitting them and fans like to see more home runs. Seriously, forward need to stop complaining about goalies being too good and learn to shoot better.....of course I'm a little bias.

I heard that they might stop calling offsides on a team that is short handed. That would mean you could send a guy streaking to the net and dump the puck down ice and hope for the best. of course you would be on the PK but... I seriously doubt anything will ever come of it but it was just a rumour i heard.
