Hi all. New to the forum. Currently playing inline hockey in Italy, have been asked to coach too. Division A2. Pretty decent level of play, a number of guys who have played on the Italian national team, etc. I'm from Canada and have a good 35 years of ice hockey experience, but I was hoping to get some good recommendations on coaching inline hockey. Books, videos, whatever. Strategy, implementing and practising offensive and defensive schemes, powerplay and penalty killing, etc. We've got a lot of good individually talented guys, but we just didn't put it together as a team this past season. Finished 3rd, but had the talent to battle for top spot- and promotion to A1. Lots of working guys on the team, so practising not always easy to arrange so that everybody's there. Same goes for the games too. I'd love to implement a solid basic system that would offset some of this. Work a lot on this at every practice, plus conditioning, and that should do it. Anyway, pretty long-winded first post, so I hope to hear from you. Let me know. Thanks. Chris

Richard's suggestions are very good.

For what it's worth you might also look at:

The price is right! :-)

You might also look at the drill books that USA Hockey InLine offer as well.
