I was wondering if I could get some advice on what stick and blade I should get.
I currently have a Z-Bubble 85 flex senior stick with a Modano graphite senior blade. I turned 13 about a month ago and, of course, play in 12U. I'm 5' 4", 110 LB, and play D, but I take a lot of shots, especially slappers. My stick seems like it's about to break (I've had it for about half a year) and I'm wondering what stick and blade combination I should get. A major concern is the stiffness of the stick; I think my Z-Bubble is a bit too stiff at 85 flex, but I don't like the super-flexy 50 flex junior sticks that I would probably break within a month (I'm fairly strong for my age). Therefore, I'm wondering if I should go with something like a 65 flex Tri-Core, get a super-flexy 50 flex stick, or stick with 85 flex senior sticks. I like my Modano blade, but I want something with a a higher lie but similar curve (the Modano has very, very little curve alowing for more powerfull and accurate shots). The Modano has a low lie so the toe seems to hit the floor before the heel of the blade when I take slapshots. I think this may be slowing down my shot a bit becaue I have to shoot of the end of the heel and the beginning of the toe. I already have a 70 MPH. shot, but I think I could possible juice it up to about 75 with this improvement. I'm thinking of a combination of a 70 flex Tri-Core Intermediate stick with a Lindros curve Bauer Supreme Senior blade or something like that.

What are your ideas? Help is greatly appreciated!

I've used the Z bubble 85 flex with the Modano. Deadly combination! My main axe is the Tricore with a Sakic focus flex. My slapshot has lost some velocity, but my accuracy improved. You may want to try the Z Bubble with a Lidstrom Focus Flex.

I used to purposely hit the toe first on slap shots. It would cause the blade to flex a bit and add more "oomph' to the shot. I stopped doing that when I got the focus flex blades.
