With their four losses this weekend, it is pretty safe to write off the Phantoms from a playoff berth. Many in my organization will back me up on this. Weeks ago I told everyone to watch out for the Inferno and my vision is starting to come true.
Though the Minutemen have a two point lead in the standings and two games in hand, the schedule down the stretch heavily favors the Inferno. The Minutemen have road games with both the Typhoon and the Growl, while the Inferno have completed their season series with these teams. Both teams clearly play better at their home rink as proven by giving teams like the Typhoon and Growl fits. While all of the Inferno's games left will be played at home, it is the opposite for the Minutemen who will be on the raod for the remained of their season, including two long roads trips to Scottsdale and Richmond.
Please dont mistake my opinions here as cheering for one team over the other, because frankly i'm not sure who we would rather play if we are able to hold the #1 seed. While the Minutemen have given us our only two losses this season, I think everyone on our team will agree that playing the Inferno in Scottsdale in the first round is a scary thought.
Should be an interesting end of the season with these two teams and the games in Scottsdale between the Minutemen and Inferno should be huge. Good Luck to everyone!
