Our Growl team made a the long trip to Pittsburgh over the weekend and played a crazy sex game schedule in less the 24 hours and came away with six wins that ended up being big wins after hearing the the Typhoon lost two close games to the Lunatics over the weekend. There is no need to put the scores up, use can look at the scores on the pro inline website, and for the most part the games were played pretty clean. Things got a little chippy at the end, but things happen in hockey, the games are over and everyone went home happy. I just wanted to say that as a player I enjoyed playing on the huge surface that the Phantoms play on, it helped with the speed factor that our team has. One last thing, I want to let anyone know who woesn't there that Sean Sullivan and John Pinheiro could have made the entire top 10 list on "sportscenter". The one on one moves and the show they put on throughout the weekend were just as much fun watching as it was coming back home with six wins.
Well that is my update from the weekend. OFF to start my long work week.
Look forward to seeing Mazer and company next weekend, should be two great games, and we missed you B. Katinsky this weekend, I had to play with Sean Sullivan all weekend, how bad does that suck, lol.

i think i can speak for our defensemen and goaltenders, as they also feel quite violated... i am also quite positive that the goal pinheiro scored on saturday night defied all laws of gravity and inline hockey...

Hey there flynn, me cuddling wit Joey is one thing, but whatever happened b/w cat and fish is different. Besides, I needed to warm up Joey's catching hand for our games the next day. By the way, did Jimmy V ever get his money back from ya.

how in the hell did you finally figure out how to get on here? i'm sorry richard, but i will no longer be posting on this board with this guy on here. if he talks half as much as he does in person no one else will be able to get a word in. just kidding my favorite new yorker (besides meaty of course). it's good to see you finally got some computer lessons. what did you trade an IT guy for some poor investment advice?

wheels15
03-27-2006, 04:58 PM
I can tell you where Jimmy picked up his computer lessons. I am guessing that after Joey D got hit on at the cafe saturday because of how nice his laptop was, "fortunately Joey denied the mans request". Jimmy must have snuck back in there after we left and got a few lessons on how to turn it on and type, lol.
Just messin Jim, You know you are the only person who can have a decent conversation about boxing or ultimate fighting and actually knows what he is talking about.

You know Beauchamp, you talk a lot of $h!t when your hiding behind a computer screen! And besides, that was a job offer, not a marriage proposel. Your jealousy did finally show later that night though huh?
Anyway, if I tried to give Jimmy V. computer lessons he'd probably chuck it out the window when he kept screaming "pass the puck!" and it didn't respond. :-P

I'm guessing that was you Joe. LoL. Hey I don't care what it was, as long as you shot him down, lol. And let me end by quoting the infamous Jimmy Vivona in our game on saturday vs the inferno. Remember, a guy is heading in to get a lose puck and go in all alone on Joe D, and instead of Jimmy V skating out of his boots to chase the guy down, he yells "Joey, go get the puck". It had to be the best line I've ever heard in hockey. Jimmy's gonna kill me when he reads this

Unbelieveable, how can you bite the hand that is going to feed you this weekend, Bobby?. What can I expect from someone who has as few brain cells as Flynn has hairs on his dome..lol. I will forgive your transgressions Bobby, because I know you will make it up to me by backchecking for me. As for the play with me asking Joey D. to save me some energy by coming out to the blueline with full goalie equipment to beat that guy to the puck, instead of me having to exert myself by chasing him, I see nothing wrong it..lol

I appreciate your support in this, my fleet-footed friend. Here we are involving our goalies on one side of the rink, and still finding a way to cover the oppositions goalie, and still we have to deal with critisism. It's an unappreciated art, what we do out there...lol

imasieve30
03-28-2006, 04:29 PM

The Phantoms are very classy, perhaps with the exception of one guy who seemed to have his priorites out of order. Trying to prove a point to an organization that welcomed him (more then once) with open arms, when the rest of the hockey world shunned him. Running our top players when the score was 8-0 doesn't earn you credibility, just puts a huge bullseye on your back DB!

GROWL99
03-29-2006, 03:59 PM
You did a great job that game. I have to admit, it certainly made me think a little, but what really had me going nuts was watching a rusty Bobby B. miss 5 open nets that night..lol

GROWL99
03-29-2006, 04:06 PM
Valid point, I'm sure. You have to give that player credit though, in that, when there was retribution, he took it, and didn't say a word, and then when challenged, he was ready to go. Believe me, as one of the players that took the brunt of one of his runs, when I wasn't expecting it, I don't condone it, but it was nice to see our team stand up for one another, and that player stand up for himself. It's all part of the game.

GROWL
03-29-2006, 04:13 PM
unfortunitely I just think the reasons he did it were a little misguided? he was passing threats along before the first puck ever dropped and after reflecting on it I find it very ignorant of him after how this organization has treated him over the past 4 years.

See all this. I work all day, come home, and Jimmy V has 500 posts on here. I wanna know who told him about this forum, he's as happy as a fat kid in a candy store on here. Also, I have watched Jimmy play poker. He plays good pocket cards, like anyone else, but when it comes to the river, "he couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat". Flynn, I am definately thinking about making the trip out the to game, either fri or sat. I want in on this big tourney. Is TJ really going out to Pittsburgh, they r a great organization, but thats a heck of a drive to get out there. Guess we'll see him in a few weeks at our rink. Also, anyone need any Narch or Torhs playes, I am looking to play this summer and need a team. So let me know.

Hey hey hey....Now listen Grampa, let's see you play goal well when you have the likes of Ying and Jim V on your team. Talk about no back checking, defensive skills or any degree of comprehension of how inline hockey is played. Every time the opposing team crossed the center line, JV would head to the bench and then Ying would fall while skating backwards. I think in four games, I had 86 two on nones, and only let up four goals. As far as you are concerned, you haven't scored on me since the summer of 1999. I think it was late August, and it went in off of one of my defensemens skates.

AFan99

I knew things were bad for us when we couldn't hit you in warmups. My goodness, gracious, I actually think pucks were going through you. I almost checked you for holes after Darrel Debartolo shot a slapshot from the boards that hit you in the chest, but still found it's way in the net. I will not take responsiblity for our poor showing. My job was to get the puck to our goal scorer, who we thought was Steve Yingling. If I would've known that "Biff" was going to be our most dangerous shooter, I think he scored 1 goal on 2 shots, which is 50%, I would've given it to him more..lol
