View Full Version : Nike/Bauer Skates - will they still make them?

I am the owner of some old Bauer inline skates (I tried Mission, CCMs, and Nikes and they just didn't "work for my feet"). Now after a few years, I'm looking into a new pair as the old are worn out. While looking around the various brands/types, I noticed that both the Nike and the Bauer websites are completely devoid of inline skates. In fact, many of the online retailers only carry a small selection of sizes (usually implying small inventory or a phase out/clearance).
Did Nike/Bauer announce that they aren't making inline skates any longer, are they just really lousy marketeers, or are they holding something back for some new introduction later in the year?

you might be stuck with the phase-out situation here...
most people wouldn't give 2 cents for anything Nike, although Bauer was a high quality brand for decades...certainly respect that they work for you, everybody has one particular model that does that, bad luck that it's Bauer for you...
Try Tour...

Also you could get an ice hockey skate and mount a roller chassis on it. That's what I do because I like the feel of a Bauer boot as well.

Go to epuck.com, they have the new bauer and Nike skates for inline. Not very impressed by them, but a good price nonetheless.

I am currently using Nike Hi-HO Silver skates. I feel that they are by far the most comfortable skates I have ever worn. Not sure what new skates will be made but I am very happy with them.I also have a pair of nike roller daddys that are very simlar(had lower bearings and wheels on them from Nike. I am selling them for 100.00 if you are interested size 12d ( 13 shoe)

They do indeed have a new year model for inlines. I guess the answer to my question is that they are lousy marketeers.
Thanks.

Hi bjvaustin,
Guess I have to agree with you... if they were smart marketers, they'd be advertising on IHC! /wtimages/icons/wink.gif
