I am currently doing a project for an engineering class I'm in on the materials comprised to play roller hockey. This includes many different aspects, such as the flooring, boards, net, etc. I was wondering if anyone had any good website where I could retrive this information or if they knew any on the information on hand. Thank You

Go to www.sportcourt.com to learn about the flooring.

Hi Deitz,

I've sent you a private message; look for a flashing envelope next to "Admin" above, and click on it.

Thank you, and good luck.

with the highest possible respect to other brands,

1. Sportcourt "Attack-6" model flooring, over concrete graded to less than 1/32 of an inch.

2. Athletica/Border Patrol Pro 6000 dasher boards and goals.

3. Daktronics scoreboard, any model based on needs.

Far and away, these are the industry leaders, these companies have put the most into R&D over the past ten years, and their products are first-rate, high-performance, and dependable.

Your "best rink" also has lighting to 85 candlepower, minimum of 4, 16' by 16' dressing rooms, a pro shop, and a concessions area. Team bench areas minimum of 24' length by 6' deep...PA/sound system is a good thing. Bleacher or chair seating on risers for minimum of 300 is also nice. Restrooms with five-person capacity each, mens/womens...everything ADA compliant...

The "best rink" facility would also have two full size (185'x85') floors, and a smaller, 75' by 120' surface, for Wheelchair, 3v3, and Blind divisions of play.

That's about all I can think of...

Hi Danny,

One thing I need to mention about "Sport Court."

That company's lawyers threatened to sue Inline Hockey Central because rinks that used their flooring used those two words in tandem to describe the actual rink surfaces in their facilities. As a result, I had to go through IHC's entire Links section and delete every single reference to Sport Court. Stupid, senseless, self-defeating? Use your own descriptive phrase...

In case Sport Court or the NSA is "listening in," I suggest everyone be very careful in mentioning that company's products. It certainly would be ironic to be sued for giving the company free advertising.

Sincerely,

Hi, Rich,

Thanks for the heads-up note on behalf of the somewhat, perhaps self-important Sportcourt (tm) people...

Rich, you know me, this is the kind of thing that pisses me off a little...I have personally/professionally been involved in purchasing over $100,000 of these people's products.

So, they're afraid of what??? the coca-cola and kleenex "generification" of their product name?

They perhaps believe that they are so important to the industry that they have reason for such fear/reaction to the potential "overuse" of their brand name?

Yeah, okay...hey, guys up in Utah, bite me...

Thanks for letting me get that on the table...

Maybe we should start a movement to boycott a certain brand of flooring....recommending all the other brands instead....
