East Coast Inline Hockey League

[ECIHL]

The ECIHL is a new traveling league based in the Greater Boston area of Massachusetts, with future plans of expanding throughout the New England region.

The ECIHL is a Division 2 BALL league that caters to the serious recreational level hockey player. The inaugural season starts Saturday evening March 18, 2006 and will continue play through the middle of May. Host rinks for the ECIHL include; Sports World Center in Tewksbury, MA, Holbrook Inline Sports Center in Holbrook, MA, and Hockeytown is Saugus, MA.

The New England Roller Hockey League will be a puck version of the ECIHL beginning in September that will cater to Division 1A teams and players. However, I am still finalizing the details for that league. Expect an announcement in the near future in regards to the NERHL. In the meantime, feel free to check out that league's official website www.nerollerhockey.com . It will give you an idea as to what we will attempt to accomplish once the league is officially launched.

I think a ball league is an excellent idea..it will bring a bunch of street players into the league....what is needed is growth...and reverting to a ball league could be very helpfull...I think you have a variety of floor hockey leagues up there too...playing ball on foot...so the next step is onto inlines, and once the taste is there..some will no doubt want to advance to puck play...good effort.
