I would like to start a discussion on the pro and cons of the 3 major types of hockey chassis's.
rocker
vapors
vibes
I would prefer not to get into the manufacturers debate, but would like to hear from experienced players about what concept they think works the best. I will start off with my opinions
The rocker blade theory will only be that way until the wheels start to wear and then it should start to turn into a straight chassis.
Vapors look like they should be great. In theory you should get a longer stride and a quicker turning radius. But does the mechanism have a high occurrence of breakage.
What is the difference between the 2,3,4 6,8 etc. is it the quality of the boot?? Or what??
Vibes--not sure they have been out long enough to get a good opinion. I think that the shock giving you extra speed because it will spring you forward is a load of %$#@. But again the stride should lengthen, but I suppose only 2 wheels would be on the rink--is this better than 3 (in the rocker). Also the skate should have a better turning radius because of the piston effect.
Can we here from players, who have tried these different skates, please no bauer/mission/easton bashing--just good old hockey experience?
Thanks guys
Look forward to hearing your views
