Hi Folks,

Here are two recent messages from Doug Jones of the California Roller Hockey Center, Irvine.

***

Tragedy has struck our hockey community at CARHC. John Corey, loving father and husband has passed away. He leaves behind his wife Gail and sons Adam and Kevin.

John had been a bright spot in Irvine, always supporting the program with his sons. John coached recreation, put club teams together, junior high teams, and now, with his older son's high-school teams. He was a relentless and tireless worker who always managed to have a club team and junior high team together whenever needed. He would volunteer to coach whenever there were shortages and be there for everyone.

To say John will be missed is an understatement. Memorial arrangements are being made and will be announced. I would like for our members to attend and pay their respects to a person who truly was a giver and a role model at our
facility.

Please join us for the memorial celebrating the life and joy of John Corey on Tuesday, October 25, at 1:30 p.m. at California Roller Hockey (3150 Barranca,
Irvine, CA 92606 -- between Connecting Road and Corporate Park; 949-653-0900).

Bring your thoughts and stories to share. Children are welcome to attend and encouraged to wear their favorite sports jerseys. John's favorite team was the Chicago Blackhawks, so if you can wear their colors in support, it would be appreciated.

In lieu of flowers, we invite you to donate to the Kevin and Adam Corey Educational Fund (more information to follow).

A gathering after the memorial will be at 2 Heatherwood, Irvine, CA 92620. More detailed directions can be obtained at http://www.mapquest.com.

Thank you,

Doug Jones
