View Full Version : Why so many damn Qualifiers??

I think a big problem is there are now too many tournamnets. Here in Chicago, the AIRHS and TORHS regional got canceled.......why?? In a 4 week span here, we had Triple Crown, Breakout, AIRHS had a qualifier in Detroit the week before and one in St. Louis the next, NARCH had qualifiers too, each at $450 a pop.........a house league costs 1000 and you get 10 games and playoffs........it just costs too much money to play more than 2, besides that the nationals cost 700+ to play......I remember when USA and NARCH were the only tournamnets that came around and all the best teams from all around came, because there was a limited number of regionals.......or qualifiers, beacuse regionals should only include teams from that region and the only tournamnet that enforces that is USA, which has nothing for players over 18 except a first-come first-serve basis at the national level. Well, I'll get off the soap-box, I'm just pissed that I missed out on a lot of tournamnets this summer because of a lack of teams in CHICAGO, the 2nd biggest city in the country.

I'm in for a summer tournment team...though its a bit too late for that. Hell, Ill play year round, except ive got CRHL during the school year. Let me know if youd like to try and get something together for next year.

The reason for so many qualifiers is very simple....MONEY!!!! Do you realize the amount of money that is generated from a qualifier? Do the math and you will wanna host your own qualifier.

So play 2 and choose where you want to go for Finals. Good teams will go to NARCh, teams that want to improve will go to NARCh, teams that want to win in their backyard and duck will go elsewhere..

Championships are the clumination of a season..play the regional, then practice lots, then play another to see where you're at.,.then practice a lot more..playing events every weekend against the same teams is useless if you want to improve

My parents happen to own an inline hockey rink, and I'll have you know they've never made a dime on tournaments........in fact, they've lost money the last two years hosting NARCH....as far as playing for competition, that's my point....your plan would work great, but I don't have money to throw around to spend on three weekends...entry fees alone would cost $1700!!!

I agree! The problem is too many tournament series. I think we should keep maybe the 2 most successful ones...NARCh and TORHS I think TORHS would be one. and have the teams from all the other events come and try to quilify for these events.

I mean, we could still keep some of the other tournaments...eg: Hyper Crusade, MIssion Cup(Both at Dumars). But only have like 2 or 3 diferent Nationals...NARCh, TORHS, etc.

I think that this would save a lot of money, and would bring everyone together more as a group, it is so spread out right now because of all the different series'.

only play the ones you want, when you don't enter some..they will fold..is that so hard?
