A DECADE OF SUCCESS: COASTAL CUP HOCKEY ENTERS 10th SEASON

Coastal Cup Hockey will begin its 10th season in October 2005. Along with NARCh, Coastal Cup is one of the longest-running and most successful inline hockey tournament series being played.

The success of Coastal Cup, which stages events across the Southeast United States, is based on the integrity of its organization and ongoing support and commitment to grow the sport at the recreational and club levels. While Coastal Cup does not discourage strong competition, it does not allow established teams to recruit players from other inline hockey programs. Because of its focus on established teams and programs, Coastal Cup delivers a competitive and affordable
tournament series for every club-level travel team.

Participation is the driving force behind Coastal Cup, at both the player and team level. Players are required to participate in at least two Regional Tournaments with his or her team in order to be eligible to compete in the season-ending Coastal Cup Championships. Each team must participate in a minimum of two Coastal Cup Regional Tournaments to qualify for the finals.

This structure not only helps to discourage teams from ?recruiting? players for the finals and other events, but it also offers an opportunity to see the competition and develop friendly rivalries.

Each season, approximately 80 teams participate in Coastal Cup events in five age divisions. During the upcoming Coastal Cup season (October 2005 ? May 2006), Regional Tournaments will be held in Raleigh, NC; Columbia, SC; Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Williamsburg, VA; and Greenville, SC.
