I have to laugh when I see how some people and not the ones in this thread but some organizations split the regions. They call North Carolina the South and I choke with laughter. I live on the coast at the bottom of Louisiana and we are in the west go figure. I wonder how many geography classes they flunked. lol

I'm originally from Dixon, IL and there is a very small pocket of quality roller hockey players in that area. In addition, Sterling, IL and I believe Galesburg had a roller hockey club.

Galesburg use to have a hockey club many years ago, in fact the teams that were coming out of there were very good. In the end what happened was that a adult team from the Quad Cities called Biohazard joined with the Galesburg team Sulley's.. Furthermore the new team is now called Red Storm. A pretty good team if I may add.

Is there hockey in other surrounding communities around you besides Sterling, and Dixon?

Rockford would be the biggest hockey town in that area. Peoria is another place I would look for talent. I played a few roller hockey leagues and tournaments in the Quad Cities and there was some good players there. If you were really bold and looking to start an elite team, perhaps making friends with members of the Quad City Mallards would be a good start.
