Now that we have been talking about all the different ways to make our sport grow I think it is now time to take action. We must first gather who we want to approach, and how we will approach their orgianzations. I think the people that would be the best would be, NARCh, USA hockey, Hockey Canada, School boards, possibly ESPN/TSN(Canadian).

The next thing we must figure out is HOW we will approach them. I think the most appropriate way would be to collobrate and get everyone in on a letter. Then attatched to the letter have a petition with the signatures of the people who are in support of what we are doing. Knowing how much inline has grown I don;t think it would be unreasonable for between 20 000-50 000 signatures, collected by everyone who is a part of this effort(Not alone, but the group of us should be able to do that many). Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated, but I think that letters with signatures would be the best way to start.

Now comes the hard part, we must compile a vast selection of ideas for the letters. This is the part that EVERYONE on the board can help out at. Any idea is welcomed, but please be serious with what you are writing. I know myself and everyone esle who will be involved in this feels very strongly about it! I'll try to start this a little bit. The thing I believe in most is that if you can get NARCh broadcasted on ESPN/TSN it would really let the people(skeptics) see what the sport is really about! I think this is our number one priority. I know that a lot of people who have just heard about inline think it is just a stupid runn off of hockey, but when they see the calibre of players in NARCh, or what have you they really gain a lot of respect for the sport. Our next spot would be to really hammer down on the school boards I know inline could be a really hot sport for high schools now. If we could get funding, or even a sanctioned event for the State/National championships it could do a lot for our sport. Now, I think the next thing we should focus on is getting Canada/USA hockey involved with inline. If we could get reputable organisations like that helping us out it would be a great thing. They could help with the sanctioning of some tournaments(Better calibre) and help out teams that would other wise be almost shunned because they want to play NARCh, or what have you(Mainly in Canada, what happened to my team) get insurance, because it is very expensave.

Well guys and gals, there is my start to what we have to accomplish! Please add onto it, we need something very strong, and need many ideas before anything can be done!

I would like to thank everyone who has, and will be helping out in this cause! You are all showing tremendous love for this great sport!

Sincerely,

I have really enjoyed reading the recent posts on the state of roller hockey. There's been a lot of great ideas. Particularly the letter writing/petition to the T.V. networks (ESPN). When our pro team was active and we were negotiating for local and national exposure the executives would always tell us that if people wanted to watch it then they will broadcast it. So telling the networks that your want your MTV (or roller hockey), will help get it on. Even without a pro league, airing NARCh would be a great substitute. Then the networks will keep it on the air if the ratings warrant it. It's the same premise with the print media. People need you write or call your local or national print media and ask that they report on roller hockey. Even if its just the local house leagues or travel teams.

One suggestion I would make would be to hold a symposium. Maybe we can have one arranged in Florida to coincide with NARCh Finals. Just about everyone will be in one place at the same time. I don't know if there have been any symposiums on roller hockey before but maybe it's time for one now. I now NARCh Finals is only a month away but I would be happy to try and put something together. I know with Rich Graham's assistance we can make this happen. People that can't attend could be involved through the web. I think it could get the sport a lot of attention because it would get almost everyone involved in the different roller hockey sectors together in one spot at one time. It would give you and opportunity for these people to hear your ideas and react to them.

I hope everyone keeps the momentum going and maybe this sport will have a future after all.

WOW!!!
I am so impressed right now!!!
I now know that it isn;t just a select few who care about our sport, but it is a whole collaboration of people, and whats more amazing is that they are all in one place! I just can't say how much you people are helping out, as for you benny, I really hope you can be one of the people that will work closly with us to get everything together, I think it is a great idea to do that at NACRh, its just awsome!
KEEP IT UP PEOPLE!!! I am just in awe over this right now, and I think this could really happen!
Thanks again!
