Hi Charles,

I haven't seen the movie, but I did see people sitting in line for it tonight... as I used a free pass to go see "Cinderella Man," the new boxing movie with Russell Crowe. I haven't been at a movie in a long time, and can't remember when I heard applause at the end. A good, inspiring story... and perhaps an allegory for inline hockey? once on the ropes, thought of as washed up? yet comes back to triumph? /wtimages/icons/shocked.gif /wtimages/icons/smile.gif

Thanks for giving away the ending Richard!! I was so ready to go see it tonight. Now what do I do? SW is so out of the question. I'm not a sci-fi geek.

So excited that it is finally here. I remember as a young kid being a huge Star Wars nut. It's just amazing that 20 something years later we still have the honor of having one more Star Wars movie release. The SW series is the movie event of all time and there will never be anything like again.

Agreed that SWs is the movie event of all time, but I do think that The Godfather Trilogy and Lord of the Rings runs close behind. There is no comparison to Star Wars though!!

This Star Wars may be the best of all. It's dramatic, exciting and violent (not that I'm all about the violence but this film needed it)... the last 2 have missed most of these aspects (I think the first two episodes were a necessary evil Lucas had to get through in order make this beast of a finale). It's truly epic.
The reviewers are killing me though. I couldn't have expected more from a movie. Shame on them for never being satisfied. (Who cares about reviewers who give two thumbs up to SIDEWAYS or LOST IN TRANSLATION anyways)
ps.. fortunately i got my tickets a month ago...

I agree, GF & LOTR's are truly special also. I think what puts SW above the rest is the way episode IV,V,VI were made into movies before I,II & III were; though accidental. You hear a lot of talk about people being disappointed with the last two(I,II), but what they need to realize is that they never were going to match up to (IV,V,VI) and that is why Lucas released them first with no plans originally on making I,II & III into movies. I do happen to really like the last two though and can't wait to see the SITH. If I have the time, I plan on doing a marathon with a few friends. I & II on DVD/Surround Sound at the crib, then off to the theater for III. Following day continue with IV,V & VI on DVD. Let's see if it could be done. MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU !

Your marathon sounds cool. We did that with LOTRs. Unfortunately I wont be able to do that with SW. Its now 445pm here and I will explode if I dont see SWs within the next 24 hours!

Sideways was CRAP! Lost in Translation wasn't so hot either and I love odd slow movies like that.

Don't forget that SWs introduced the whole love story finally, and I think that drove some of the men away.

Hi Rebecca,

Sideways? Wasn't that a movie about Lindenwood's inline hockey strategy? /wtimages/icons/wink.gif

I would not have waited either if it weren't for the fact that by the time I found out that tickets were being sold weeks before release, it was too late. How was it ?????

You forgot the Indiana Jones trilogy...definately better than The Godfather, in my opinion. May even be better than LOTR's for it's time. Both have Harrison Ford...accident? I think not...

Shoot, score, then celebrate...followed by an appology for the pass you didn't make.
