I've had the same CCM helmet for about a year and the padding is still pretty solid. I know you don't want it to be too broken in but the padding is so stiff it actually hurts my head sometimes. Is there anyway to break this in a little bit.

Have you thought about adjusting it? Check the helmet instructions and adjust your helmet with the adjustment screws.

I have an even better solution!
Buy a BAUER 5000 they are the best helmets...ccm helmets are *censored*!!!

Nah, CCM makes a fine helmet no need to piss money away. Your CCM helmet is fine just needs adjustment. I have a Bauer 4000 for the record.

yea, just adjust it. it seems to me that whenever you see a player on tv they almost always wear a helmet with what looks like a lot thinner padding. maybe its just me. but also, ccm's are fine. bauer's are good too. i've worn about every helmet out there though, and i have to say the carbster feels like a regular old hat you wear out. its great. but it is pretty expensive, but it is supposed to be like a racecar drivers helmet.

Thanks for all the feedback. I've adjusted the darn thing a ton but it just doesn't seem to ever feel right. I'll give it another try.
