Inline Hockey Arrives in Windsor
CHATHAM, Ontario, Canada - Canada Inline, the National Governing Body for Inline Hockey, member of the Canadian Olympic Committee and proud member of the Federation of Roller Sports (FIRS) announces today that Canada Inline has added a new significant member league in Windsor, Ontario. Ron Dzombak, Executive Director of the Novelletto Rosati Sports and Recreation Complex (NRC) aka <A HREF="http://www.thesoccerplace.ca" target="_new">http://www.thesoccerplace.ca</A>, in Mic Mac Park in Windsor, Ontario, has secured an inline hockey floor from Activecourt Inc. (<A HREF="http://www.activecourt.com" target="_new">http://www.activecourt.com</A>) and will begin league play mid-May.
Opening a new league in one of Canada?s major border cities is significant to the growth of inline hockey in Ontario. This first-class complex is only 10 minutes from the Ambassador Bridge, connecting Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan. With the number of quality inline teams in the Michigan area, the NRC will become a tournament hub for the Ontario and Michigan teams.
?Having a facility of this quality, that is air-conditioned and located close to all major arteries, is an asset to growing the sport of inline hockey in Ontario,? said Dave Easter, the president and CEO of Canada Inline. According to **** Morrison, national director of high performance of Canada Inline, ?This complex with the new Activecourt Floor system will attract events and programs that target high performance play and competition."
?Most importantly, this facility will be the home to hundreds of recreational inline hockey players in the city of Windsor," said Ron Dzombak, executive director of the NRC. ?We are excited about being the newest league member of Canada Inline and part of the growth of this exciting sport that is Too Hot for Ice!?
