This has proable been brought up before. Do you think players in adult rec leagues should have to wear cages or half shields. The only reason I am bringing this up is because a guy on my team got hit in the fave and got a cut on his eyelid. I wear a cage because of that reason. There are to many people that like to swing their sticks around or keep them up high. Some of it would be helped if refs warned and then called it. I just want some opinions.

This year it is a USA Hockey requirement in Junior, with an exemption if you sign a waiver. This waiver only allows you to replace the full cage with a shield however.

I recently reviewed the safety findings from USA Hockey pertaining to frequency of injury. A recent study commissioned by USA Hockey indicated that players wearing just a cage, reduced the incidence of eye injuries by a factor of 4.7 times....there were no significant eye injuries to players wearing full facial protection.

Them's the recent "facts' from USA Hockey (one other example of where your money goes), so you decide.
