Boot Stiffness / Durability

Ok...not to flog a dead horse, but I want some input on the Bauer Vapor line of skate boots.

I am interested in buying a pair for ice and a pair for roller.

My question is, do the Vapors hold up or are they not durable at all. I have heard guys say that the Vapors wear out real fast, like under 12 months. I play at least 4 times a week and I just do not want to have these things wear out on me!!

I like the new XI Roller model that Hockey Giant is offering and the XV in the ice model.

Any input or info appreciated!!

The Nike Silver HiHo and Vapor XII are the same boot, except for the toe vents according to all I have talked to who have used both, and that's the boot Nike will refer to as the "reference fit" for going from one of their ice skates to the Nike HiHo's.

The XX, and the XXX have had reported durability complaints for ice hockey... a usefull life of from 6 - 12 months has been the comment from heavy users of these ice skates at the elite level......

The lower end may be better, because they have not tried to lighten those as much as the top end stuff. Complaints were that the boot lost stiffness to the point where support was minimal.

Durability on the HiHo's seems to be ok, except for the side wear which others have seen, as well as ourselves, from sliding or touching the floor when skating.

Thanks, I know that the XI and the XV are different than the Nikes, because I had the Roller Daddys and they were ok, but the arch support was just wrong for my foot. They also only had 9 eyelets. The XI's and XV's have 10 eyelets and the boot itself fits very different. I have tried those on and I like the way they feel, but I am just worried about the durability. The Tour BlueMax is just too expensive, for such a heavy boot and I hate the Hu'mer chassis! Missions are just way too cheap in quality, CCM's are the ones I need to try on, because I cannot wear their ice skates, but someone mentioned that the roller skates fit a lot different. I wore a size 9 EE in the CCM's and it was still too narrow and more specifically, too low volume for my foot. I am going this weekend to try a pair of the CCM's and see for myself!! Thanks again!!
