Let me be the first to vocalize my happiness at what seems to be a rapid growth of this board. For the first time in a LONG time, everytime i come back to the board, there are new posts...and of something other than pointless flames or disrespect. We've got a great assortment of people posting on this, both old timers that I remember from my previous incarnation as "Gooz", like calihockey and Huck, and also a fresh crop of newbies like reaper_rider whose passion for the game can do nothing but help the sport grow in leaps and bounds. Gentleman and Ladies, im proud to be a part of IHC. This is what matters and what will help the sport grow. Players of all demographics, coming together to talk and discuss our shared addiction. We need to do what we can to help this place. New guys, ask questions...Old timers, help them out. Everyone spread the word and get more people here....I can't wait to see the registered users number hit a thousand...and keep going. If you haven't already, become a paying supporter of the site. I know many of you may not want to drop the $20, but in doing so, you're helping keep alive a glimmering light among many burnt out failures.

Rich-

Thanks for all your hard work. Its definitely appreciated. Keep it up!

Hi ChloroFiend,

Thanks for the kind words. I am very confident in the long-term future of inline hockey, and though I've been committed to making IHC succeed for 3.5 years now, it's definitely a tough goal.

One reason there has been a lot less spam is IHC's current Message Board system. I think it's brilliant, and it has saved me many headaches and heartaches. There are plenty of sites to go to and read spam, and this simply isn't going to be one of them.

I also like to see new people come to IHC's Message Boards, and I think we'll see the number of registered Message Board readers continue to grow.

While the increased traffic on IHC lately is heartening, the server that hosts IHC increases its monthly charges each time IHC exceeds its monthly limits of bandwidth and file transfers.

So... IHC can certainly use more subscribers. Thanks for putting in the good word, Jon!

Sincerely,

I dont get this subscriber thing. Is this like a PBS, $20 donation sorta thing? Or does IHC have a paper magazine in circulation?

Hi Reaper,

Subscribers get special e-mail updates from me and are eligible for contests. The current contest offers a Black Biscuit jersey to the subscriber who can guess the correct answer to a question I've posed regarding the IHC North American Tour. I hope to continue that road trip across the U.S. and Canada soon.

You can subscribe by sending a check for $20 to IHC via snail mail to Inline Hockey Central, P.O. Box 409, Santa Monica, CA 90406-0409, or via e-mail to [email protected] through PayPal.com.

Like print magazines, few web sites can exist without a combination of advertising and subscriptions. Inline Hockey Central is no different.

Sincerely,

Hi Morrisville,

LOL. Fair enough. I'm going to try and use that with my landlord next month! :)
