I'm not quite sure when the PIHA site will be operational so I thought it best to post the information I have available. This weekend is the league's kickoff weekend. I will post the weekend schedule as soon as I have it confirmed. Best of luck to all this seasons teams, owner, players, and everyone else involved.

The Growl will welcome the three time defending PIHA Champion York Typhoon to the Sportsplex in Feasterville, PA this coming Saturday, February 12th at 6pm. A record capacity crowd is expected as the Growl has partnered with the East Coast Hockey Organization who is hosting a region tournament at the Sportsplex coming this weekend.
We expect this to be the premier matchup in the league this season as the Growl look to stake a claim at being the best by beating the best.
Both teams have deep and talented rosters and the games should be instant classics. As always, the event will be run by the Growl's professional gameday staff, who continue to lead the way, providing inline hockey's most fan friendly event.
The evening will be highlighted by the the Growl's vocally talented young star Bianca Ryan who returns her beautiful voice to the rafters of the Sportsplex for the national anthem and an intermission song of her chosing.
Additional giveaways, interactive games, and an appearance by Spike the Growl mascot for the youngsters can also be expected.
We invite everyone to this Blockbuster event!

The PIHA website is now officially up and running thank you to the terrific work of Kenny Meyer once again. There is still a small amount of work to be finished and once that has been completed the game information from this past week will be entered and everything will be up to date. On behalf of all the owners and players in PIHA, I can't thank Kenny enough for his continued efforts with our league website. As I understand it, he has taken a new job and has recently moved, so this must have been an even bigger effort this season and it shouldn't go unnoticed or unappreciated. Thank you!!!

The Growl will visit the Morristown Minutemen this Saturday for two games starting at 6pm. Both squads are undefeated as they will have an early battle for eastern division supremacy. The list of stars in this game will be lengthy, including (but not limited to) Ron Tracy, JD Davidson, John Pinheiro, Jim Vivona, Mike Ritz, Sean Sullivan, Sonny Kim, Joe Tan, Sonni Mincelli, Simon Egan, Nick Demulis, Jim Mcgrath... the list could go on and on...
It will be a great goaltending match up as well, as both teams have the deepest goaltending in the league.
This is setting up to be a classic battle with many sub plots. Coming to see these games will not disappoint!

Why is there no updated info on the PIHA site ?
GROWL
02-23-2005, 01:44 AM
Because the league still needs to input rosters. Team GM's are responsible for adding in game information, but this is not possible until the league makes the rosters accessable.

Growl won both games Saturday against the Downingtown Rage:
Game One: Growl 10 / Rage 3
Game Two: Growl 8 / Rage 5
Minutemen won both their games against the Inferno
5 - 3 in the first, 5 - 1 in the second.
Congratulations to the Inferno on their effort....without some outstanding goaltending from the Minutemen, both games might have had a different outcome.
The line of Jason Allen and Simon Egan combined for 7 of the Minutemen's 10 goals.

so many things that could finish off that statement
Guys....as of today, it is now 16 days since the first game was held for PIHA, and game results and stats are not yet available, except for some of the Growl game results...This speaks to credibility once again......If you want fans to pay attention....get the basic peripherals in place.
Why should someone have to come onto IHC to get game results from a league with it's own website?
Edited by MDE3 on 02/27/05 10:05 AM.

attention Team GMs:
lets get this site up to date. please email your complete Pro AND Minor rosters to mailto:
[email protected]@goodnachos.com.
you will then receive a reply with login information for your team's own admin area of the piha site. once the rosters are posted, you are responsible for posting your own articles, photo galleries, gamesheet details, and finance reports, as well as posting invidual player mug shots.
sorry to have to post this on the public forum, but most of your individual email addresses were not made available to the web site staff.

Growl won both games against PA West Inferno.
I also want to say congratulations and best wishes to Jeff Braun. Jeff most recently played for the Downingtown Rage of PIHA, but was a member of the 2004 Tour Philly Growl. He informed us that his wife is expecting their third child (a boy) and that Saturday's game marked the last of his career as he was retiring after playing all 4 years of PIHA's existence. Jeff is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet, posessed the best hand/eye coordination I've ever seen, and I'm glad I got the chance to be his teammate.

They were a very solid squad who will only benefit from playing more and more games in the league. By the end of the season, they'll be putting wins up on the board with regularity.
They also may have been missing a few people, but I can't be certain at all. I'm just judging by the numbers on their bench.

PRO: Growl vs Inferno - Sunday, February 27th
Game One - Growl 10 / Inferno 4
Game Two - Growl 7 / Inferno 3
Minors
Game One - Swoosh 5 / Inferno 3
Game Two - Swoosh 2 / Inferno 2
*Note: The second game of the Swoosh / Inferno series was a first in PIHA history. As most are aware the PIHA overtime rule is extremely unique, playing 4mins of 3 on 3, 3mins of 2 on 2, then 2mins of 1 on 1, until someone scores. In four years the furthest anyone ever got down was to two on two and that was only twice, including last season's semifinal thriller between the Minutemen and Extremes.
Sunday Game two of the Inferno / Swoosh went the complete distance, with the only true winners being the two goaltenders, both with amazing efforts. What an exciting game for the two teams and for the league. You say you never want to see a game end in a tie... this was a tie and deserved to be!
good luck jeff. it's been a pleasure playing against you.

Minors: The Inferno split games with the Minutemen, but i have no idea what the scores were. There was no minor games on Saturday between Swoosh and Rage.
Are their updates to the stats on other sites?....Like PIHA? That sounds distinctly like a shot at someone.

The Growl website is completely up to date with growl player statistics, scores, and standings.
THe PIHA site should be up to date by the end of the week. The league finally fixed its glitch and the rosters have now been added. Now its up to the owners to get the game information in, so that stats and standings ect can be compiled.

Thank-you. We are looking forward to the entire season. It was great to see high-level hockey played by professional men. The Growl and Minuteman were terrific in talent and in hospitality.
We are eager to help make this league great for in-line hockey.

Not sure who's to blame here, but this website situation is a joke. The fact that we are a quarter of a way into the season and the site looks the way it does is sad. I go on there and I get confused that maybe I logged onto the Growl website by accident. Also, the standings say that Growl played 6 games and the rest of the teams have played 2. My suggestion is, if you don't have up to date info, don't post anything. Kenny, I know that you might be waiting on team GM's to get you rosters, stats, etc.; but how do you not have any of there phone numbers or e-mail addresses ??
GROWL
03-04-2005, 04:17 PM
Justin,
Here is how it works. First the reason it looks like we have played 6 games and everyone else played only 2 is because I have updated the site for our 6 home games thus far. The site is updated automatically from that point. Don't blame the league, the website, or the Growl for the current status of the site. Kenny is doing his job here trying to motivate the other GM's to get a move on and enter the scoresheets for their home games. As for the content of the site, I am responsible for the news content on the site and if I had something to work with (pictures, even at best an updated box score on the web) I would make it a bit diversified. Call your GM, he's the furthest behind, at last check the minutemen roster isnt up. Also if you wanna submit an article, send it to me and i'll post it if you can't motivate Silvia to do it.

Hi Wolves10,
I think that this kind of message should be directed to the PIHA itself; it's a bit unfair to blame the webmaster. What if owners are not returning his calls or e-mails? Whatever the situation, I think that airing your complaints on IHC should be a last-resort measure. Thanks.
Sincerely,
Richard Graham

If you read my message over, I was not blaming anybody. I posted this message on IHC solely to create a sense of urgency to this matter. Things I post on this board are done so to better or leagues, tourneys and our sport; not to take sides or point fingers.
