About The Camp Director
Behind the creation of the Total Hockey Sports Camp program is founder Stephane Normandeau. A native of Quebec, Canada, Stephane is internationally recognized as one of the top professional teachers and coaches by USA Hockey, ECHO, TORHS, and other U.S. national hockey programs.
Stephane has 24 years of both inline and ice hockey experience, was a top player and point leader in Canada??s national amateur program, and has received numerous honors as a player and coach at both national and international venues.
??As a youth, my best experiences were gained at summer camp where I was able to pursue my passion of playing sports under the guidance of excellent coaches. But more importantly, I made friendships that have lasted my entire life,? Normandeau said.
??Total Hockey Sports Camp offers kids the best of both worlds," adds Normandeau. "As a professional hockey coach, I have tried to find a summer camp program where youth players can develop both inline and ice hockey skills in an overnight camp program. It simply did not exist. With the help of my friends and former teammates, we have developed a summer camp program that will challenge the best of players and build the skills and confidence of those still learning as all will benefit from a targeted program, but the most fun summer camp experience ever. The Total Hockey Sports Camp is fully sactioned by USA Hockey InLine and will for the first time offer full day inline and ice hockey programs side by side in a sleep-away camp setting.
The program is all inclusive and includes the cost of all sports programs, equipment, boarding, all meals and transportation from the airport to the camp. At Total Hockey Sports Camp, nothing is overlooked. Inline players get the opportunity to test the ice and ice players enhance their skills and creativity by enjoying the inline experience. The summer camp is international in scope, as it will have campers coming from as far away as New Zealand and Australia.
The camp will have on staff a number of current and former NHL players, USA Hockey professional coaches (provided by USA Hockey), USA Hockey InLine National Team players, and college players, with targeted instruction for every player position, including goaltenders. Lacrosse and soccer will be headed up by current and former NCAA champion players and coaches; there will be pro level instruction for golf and tennis; and the former Canadian wakeboarding champion will direct the camp's watersports program.
