do professional inline players in the Piha, mjrl,or XIHL get any sort of income and do teams room and board players from out of town???? Also do players that play on teams in the Torhs Pro series get paid per tourney??? Just wondering because i always thought playing professional in a sport meant getting paid to play

99% of the players from those leagues do not get paid to play. Some teams (Wolves) do have travel expenses and some other things picked up for them. I know the Gladiators and Breakaway(last year) pretty much just split up costs between players with some help from ownership. As for Torhs and Narch, i think it depends on the team and sponser. Im pretty sure that the Mudcats get a certain amout then break it up to travel the team in and split winnings to cover the rest. I believe but am not positive that Rinkrat pays for the travel expenses for their players also.

Goalies do it better with their eyes closed!!

In an ideal world this would be the case. This was the idea behind PIHA when it was originally started. In fact there is a funny story behind the name of our league. Most people call the league "Pea-Ha", when in fact it is pronounced "Pie-Ha", which league founder Charlie Yoder used to argue that it was meant that everyone was supposed to get their piece of the league pie. Unfortunitely in an effort to compete with the other leagues, we have gotten away from this structure. Inline hockey's problem is very consistant. Like our many governing bodies and national tournaments, their are too many "pro leagues" as well. If one would step up and be superior to the others then this would not be an issue, or perhaps if they could all work together then maybe we could work towards becoming a league that acheives goals like teams generating a profit and paying its staff and players.
