View Full Version : Anyone have Mission HE950 yet????
I was wondering if anyone actually got a set of Heliums yet or has tried them. Some other posts compair them vs the beemers and other skates, but does anyone have them and can tell me how they like them??? My current skates r too small and really starting to hurt me so i need a new pair asap.

Me and my entire team has had the HE 950's for a few months now. We all love them, theyre soooo light, and the skate great but.... and this is a big BUT, the DNA lacing system wasnt sewn right and the rubber/ plastic "loop eyelits" are ripping out of them when u tighten the skates too tight. This basically makes them impossible to tie them tight after u lose one or 2 of them... mission says theyre fixin em but, havent seen the replacements doing any better yet. Just thought id warn ya. ttyl,,
that was the only thing i didnt like about them when i looked at them. I dont get why they would do that instead of just having lace holes. When i looked at the skated i pictured the plastic pieces ripping off. Good thing i didnt get them yet. Dam i really liked them too. Maybe i should go Tour instead

I got the 750's b/c I thought the boot was the smallest bit stiffer than the 950, but a good buddy of mine has the 950's. the same problem happened with his lace-eyelets....im kinda worried now for my 750's.....otherwise I love the 750. I have skated mission skates for the past 4-5 years and though I love the performance, I am usually not happy with the durabilty and longevity of the skate. (thankfully mission is always there with a replacement pair and the desire to make the product better) Sofar the new ones seem better.
I must say though that it seems like every year, the skates change and have new improvements, but they always have new problems or the same old problems as well.....maybe its time to find a design and spend a few years ironing out all the problems and then you would have an excellent skate that could become a market standard, instead of each year putting out something new with the same or newer problems....thus you have a great base around which you could improve on. create the skate before you worry about making it weigh .00025 grams lighter.
Case in point, if my proto's from 4 years ago were lighter id still be using them today, they lasted me alot longer than the DNA style skates have.

Totally agree. I had the Proto VS from 2000, lasted 3 and a half years before i got taken down at practice and tore the tendon guard. Got the 04 D3's, had them almost a year and i can see them falling apart any time between now and 6 months time, the durabilty just isn't there anymore. Going to get the CCM Pf8's february/march. Only tried them on but they feel just as good as the old mission skates.

I picked up a pair of the PF8s and they're awesome. Really light and I like the Tri-Di setup. Hopefully they'll last me a few years.
