View Full Version : Triple Crown is Fin.......
Triple Crown Sports is getting out of the inline Biz.
Selling the inline division for 17,500. If there are any takers. Just as well. Here in Colorado there are WAY to many tournament series. in the spring.

Guess I do not need to put them on this years tournament calendar then.
Not unless your buying the rights. Got 17,500?

let's see...ya gotta business that's going under, because the market is saturate, your product is not appealing to the market, you have failed to provide the quality enough to gain a viable market share...it ain't working;
-so-
you are going to sell the biz to someone else for $17K???
Great!
We only hope they are selling some equipment or other tangible assets...if all they're giving you for your 17 grand is the name and privilege, then who's going to want it? Sheeesh...
Somebody tell me what I'm missing here. It must be something...

Tournament series come and go. I wouldn't think any one TS going under is negative sign for the sport. There are no tears to be shed here (and hopefully no foolishly spent 17k) What we need to see more of in place of tournament series are grass roots programs whose goals include developing players and keeping the sport appealing to the masses, instead of making a quick buck.
Exactly what we are working on here in Colorado. We have coordinated some inter house league play between facilities to get the ball rolling.

Well folks I can say I told ya so.
Some of you were right. When Bob MaGehee ran it thing's were moving in the right direction, When Craig started thing's got better he worked his rear off he could have made them the ultimate grassroots series. Since Craig moved on things went back to the way they were before.
Many of the Colorado rec / wantabe competitive coach's thought I was nut's for going and losing at the big out of state tournaments instead of winning at T.C. which all of you know my Shadows / TEAM GEAR teams could of won Triple Crown.
Look around the tournament circuit, what do you see, think about what I told you and why my teams travaled. Yes you do have a lot of hockey in Colorado FOR now. If you don't stay on top it will landslide. It was only a matter of time before T.C. went down and many other series follow.
Before you decide to spend your players and parent's money, take a look see what that tournament is going to offer your kids and parents, look at the BIGGER picture. The CHILDREN / PLAYERS.
One of you were right what do you get for 17.5K, NOT sure but they closed down for a reason. But I am not a Business major maybe there is something there other than the name. I could tell you who I would buy into for 17grand, and I bet you could guess. A President once said "what's in a name" so maybe there is something there.
Please keep in mind I have nothing against Triple crown nor any of it's employee's. I supported them all over the country because Craig, Bob, Chad worked their butt's off and I'm sure there were many other unsung workers.
Like I said T.C. could have been the Ultimate Grassroots series.
Inter league play almost ok. (I.H.A.C.) Inline Hockey Association of Colorado was the answer and you all blew it off. Leagues need to bond together, rinks need to work with each other there are only so many players. You keep ruining it and NOT going legit will only make things worse. Look what DelGado done with High School, follow his lead. Promote the kids to the better events not just what comes around. Why settle for a economy car when you can buy A LIMO.
Hey Coloradan's don't worry hockey will still be there, and your in the HOT Spot. All eye's are on Denver Now. You can keep it that way if you learn from Cali, or Mo.
Those kids who are bringing you so much sucsess will be gone soon they are turning 18 and going to college. If your not sure who I mean you better go to the world wide web, Look for #18 Ryan(Ryno)Bernot, #9 Brian(B-Ro)Rogers, #12 Todd(bear)Barr, #15 Dan(squebl's)Esquibel, #3 Justin(Jet)Marr, and #6 Brandon(wheels)Scott and there little brothers. That's right #'s 3,6,9,12,15,18 that the team.
These are the names who brought you the great Colorado Hockey you have now. Think about it their sacrifices. They brought you these good tournaments by going out of state and getting their A--'s Kicked.
As you know I don't put any icing on the cake. A parent once said you either hate me or LOVE me. Nevertheless you have the Best hockey in the country for NOW, use it don't ignore it.
By the way your welcome.

Well good luck. I know that A Colorado Association is whats needed to guide inline through the up's and down's. I can tell you that the country is looking to Colorado as a main contender in the sport.
There great talent there and great people trying to do things. Probably my best advice would to be contact Derick Thede. He can help with about anything you may need, he knows Colorado and the sport inside out. Just tell him I sent you.
Be sure to have a section of your program for the elite players you spawn, they need a outlet for their talent.
Again Good luck.
My heart will always be there in Colorado and with the fine young athletes I have coached there the last 10 years. If there ever anything I can do for you please get in contact with me.
