Hi Folks,

In terms of dollars (which I've never added up), USA Hockey InLine HAS to have provided IHC the biggest advertising support since this site was created on January 1, 1998.

Besides that, IHC has always had incredible support from USAHIL's leadership -- Mark Rudolph, Brian Williams, and Gary Del Vecchio -- from the very beginning.

If you haven't looked into USAHIL's programs before, check them out now. I know of no other group that's done more for the sport of inline hockey since 1998 (and HAS TAKEN LESS CREDIT) than USA Hockey InLine.

News and Notes
1. USA Hockey InLine Launches Online Membership Registration

USA Hockey InLine has launched online membership registration for all sanctioned leagues and tournaments. USA Hockey InLine implemented the online registration this fall in an effort to further streamline the registration process for its members.

Individuals can now log on to www.usahockeyinline.com to register as a USA Hockey InLine player, coach or referee, submit payment using a credit card and receive instant confirmation of their membership. Thousands of people have utilized the online registration process in the first few weeks since it's introduction.

As another benefit, USA Hockey InLine sanctioned leagues and tournaments can now direct their participants to register online, therefore eliminating the on-site paper registration process. Players, coaches and referees can use their online registration receipt as proof of membership for sanctioned leagues and tournament operators until they receive their membership card.

"The USA Hockey InLine staff, sanctioned leagues and tournament operators are all extremely excited about the new online registration system," said USA Hockey InLine Director Gary Del Vecchio (Colorado Springs, Colo.). "Being able to register online in one transaction will be a valuable benefit to everyone involved in the sport."

For more details or to register with USA Hockey InLine, please visit www.usahockeyinline.com and click on "Register Online" in the right side column of our home page.

2.Total Hockey Sports Camps Set To Offer A Rare "Total Hockey Experience"

Total Hockey Sports Camp is set to provide the first-ever dedicated combined Inline Hockey and Ice Hockey program in a true sleep-away summer camp setting. Sanctioned by USA Hockey InLine, Total Hockey Sports Camp is the brainchild of hockey professional Stephane Normandeau and will provide campers an advanced level of hockey instruction in both hockey disciplines in an incredible summer camp setting.

"With the crossover of the high level player in both inline hockey and ice hockey, it just seemed amazing that no one offered a summer camp program that was tailored to provide a complete hockey experience for both types of players, while at the same time allowing them to develop skills in both areas," said Normandeau. "We saw the opportunity and the response to this camp has been unbelievable."

Located at Fort St. Jean sports complex in Quebec, Canada, Total Hockey Sports Camp will offer inline hockey and ice hockey as main activities as well as professional instruction in lacrosse, basketball, golf and water sports. USA Hockey InLine, along with the Total Hockey Systems staff, will assist in providing camp staff in the hockey instruction area. The combination will provide players and campers an incredible summer camp experience. Campers are required to be active members of USA Hockey InLine to attend the summer camp.

"The total summer camp experience for kids is best accomplished by giving our campers the chance to pursue the sports that they love, make lifetime friendships and develop confidence in themselves in a sleep-away camp setting," says Normandeau. For Total Hockey Sports Camp, the "Total" experience is the only goal.

Total Hockey Sports Camp provides two, four and six week sessions beginning June 26th, 2005 through August 6, 2005. For more information or a camp application package, please contact Total Hockey Sports Camp at www.totalhockey.org, or by phone at 866-HOCKEY8.

3. Rule Change Proposals

USA Hockey InLine would like to thank all of those who took the time to submit a rule change proposal. USA Hockey InLine prides itself on this unique process that allows our membership to have a part in the rule change process. All submitted proposals have been compiled and are being sent to the Playing Rules Committee.

This committee, made up of volunteers, will meet on December 11 to review each proposal. After careful review, the committee will make a recommendation as to whether the proposal should pass or fail. These recommendations will then be forwarded to the USA Hockey Inline Section, which acts as the Advisory Committee for USA Hockey InLine. The Section will then ratify the proposals and new rulebooks will be printed. The new rules will go into effect September 1, 2005.

Thank you again for submitting rule change proposals.

4. Colorado League Directors Meeting

As an extension of the League Director Seminars that USA Hockey InLine conducts during the USA Hockey Annual Congress and the USA Hockey Winter Meeting, new state/regional league meetings have been launched.

Recently, USA Hockey InLine held a meeting for the inline hockey leagues in the state of Colorado. The meeting was successful in that the different leagues in the state were able to sit at the same table and discuss issues pertinent to their state and their businesses. The main topics were marketing, tournaments, travel league play, scholastic programs (middle school, high school and college) and player development opportunities, as well as Coaching and Officiating Education programs. In Colorado, subsequent meetings will be held in order to implement many of the group's ideas.

USA Hockey InLine serves as a facilitator before and during these meetings in an effort to solidify and grow inline hockey in that particular state or region. The next region to have a similar meeting will be the Dallas/Ft. Worth area of Texas. For more information on this meeting or to request one in your state or region, please contact the USA Hockey InLine national office.

Be The Best

12. D-To-D Breakout 3-0
From The USA Hockey InLine Age-Specific Drill Book - 14/17-And-Under
The coach dumps the puck in the corner. The first defensemen picks up the puck and passes it to the other side straight or off the boards to the other defensemen and assumes the role of a forward. The other defensemen passes to the center or near wing and they go down three-on-zero.

Coaching and Officiating

13. USA Hockey InLine To Unveil Online Coaching Clinic Registration

USA Hockey InLine is looking forward to adding to its growing list of coaching advantages. This January, coaches will be able to sign up for coaching clinics by logging on to www.usahockeyinline.com. This great new tool will allow coaches to view potential clinics, sign-up online, and reserve their spot without any hassles. This will be a great asset as we continue to build our Coaching Education Program. Stay tuned for this exciting new feature.

14. Coaches Get Involved In The National Junior Program

With the growth and popularity of the Coaches Assist program in the Learn-to-Play program, USA Hockey InLine has expanded the Coaches Assist program to the National Junior Program Regional Camps. This expansion will give local coaches a chance to work with some of inline hockey's rising young stars.

Not only is the National Junior Program becoming a feeder program for our National Team, but it is also becoming a stepping-stone for coaches and officials to improve their game. One of our missions is to provide our coaches and officials with the same opportunities afforded to our players in efforts to continue to develop their knowledge and skills in the game. We are thrilled to provide this opportunity, and to recognize them for their hard work and dedication in the game.

Selected coaches will participate in the National Junior Program Regional Tryout Camps. As a member of the National Junior Program Staff, coaches will have an opportunity to be on the surface observing two hours of top level practices instructed by USA Hockey InLine's top Zone and State Coaches-in-Chief. During practice, coaches will be responsible for assisting in drill set up and facilitating practice sessions. Coaches will also get a first-hand look at the practice structure and witness the evaluation process and format.

Coaches selected to participate will receive transportation, lodging, meals and USA Hockey InLine apparel. One coach will be selected from each region. A maximum of 20 applicants will be accepted from each region.
For more information, please contact Aaron Kriss, Coordinator, USA Hockey InLine Coaching and Player Development, at 800-888-INLN, ext. 112.

15. Coaching and Officiating Volunteers Needed

If you are a coach or referee and would like to become a USA Hockey InLine volunteer, please contact the national office at (800) 888-INLN.
