Hi Folks,
I'm going to experiment for a while by posting all of the latest inline hockey news on the appropriate message boards, rather than update the Home Page via Dreamweaver, as I've done since January 1, 1998.
This will accomplish several things:
1. It will enable me to post news as I receive it, immediately, without the necessity of being at my own computer, firing up Dreamweaver, and so on. Instead, I'll be able to take the news items that I receive and post them on IHC's message boards from wherever I am, whether I have my laptop with me or not. I'll be able to update from a friend's computer, from an online cafe, or anywhere for that matter.
2. It will give IHC's most loyal readers -- those who read and post on the IHC message boards religiously -- the news as quickly as possible.
3. It will free up time for me to editorialize, something that I admit I've let lapse, ever since Sealweenies.com came on the scene. Mr. Mark Ellis has a million opinions, and I've allowed him to steal IHC's fire. That was a mistake.
Hell, I was working in media when Ellis was in diapers, and I can kick his ass editorially from here (Las Vegas) to the East Coast with both hands tied behind my back and both my eyes blindfolded. There's more to the news biz than simply having opinions; you have to have some humility and common sense in addition to having an opinion. Every *censored* has an opinion, and Mark Ellis is living proof of that. (His son whom I met at NARCh Winternationals a few years back, however, is a class act.)
On the other hand, I'm not a lawyer, and perhaps Mr. Ellis will sue me for these comments and shut IHC down. If that happens, at least you'll know that IHC went out with a bang, and not a whimper.
However, that ain't gonna happen.
And if you want to make sure that scenario will never happen, please send a PayPal contribution to Inline Hockey Central via my e-mail address: [email protected] If I get enough contributions, I'll only allow companies that support IHC's vision to advertise on IHC. Enough of the false promises from companies that shall remain nameless. We don't need ya, ya Cheap Skates.
IHC. Kickin' ass since 1998.
Sincerely,
Richard Graham
