Other than a Pro Stock Stick having no warranty and not being cosmetically stamped for the curve pattern(usually on the sticker), what's the difference or advantages/disadvantages between a Pro Stock and a shelf you would buy at a Proshop/Hockey Store?

The advantages that come to mind are flex, grip, and blade pattern. For example, the TPS XN10 is not available at retail in the Stiff Whip (Easton 85 or so) flex. Only Whip, Regular, Stiff etc... They also do not make a grip version for the retail market. The other obvious advantage would be curve. With only 4-5 available from most manufacturers, options are limited. Personally I need a stick with a very low lie but the Modano's (and their clones) are just about the lowest you can get without going to a pro-stock.

There also alot durable than the junk we get in the stores. They made a mistake and sent pro model sticks to my buddy's pro shop. The pro model stick was by far made better and this was just looking at it and you could tell.

So I got a new Pro Stock Synergy (Shanahan pattern) off of ebay for $75. Definitely a steal compared to the $150 for a off the shelf Shanahan pattern.
