Hi I am going to New York at the end of this week for my cousins wedding and was wondering does anyone have addresses for any good hockey stores to get gear.

I am looking to pick up a few sticks, a pair of knee-shins and some t-shirts. Being from Ireland hopefully I can pick up some good deals as for us to get the gear shipped over here it is really expensive.

So I would appreciate if any of you have any addresses for any of the larger hockey stores close to the city centre(as I wont have a car with me!)

WOW, is this your first trip to NY? Exciting

Do you know what part of the 'city' you will be going to? And where is the wedding? Just curious. Manhattan is not that large itself but the surrounding boroughs are. When people say they are going to NYC, I cannot assume they mean Manhattan since 'the city' is a general phrase.

And finally, hate to say it but, anything in New York City will be much higher than anything else PLUS will have a ridiculously high tax on it and might cost you more to ship. You would be best to stick to buying gear on the internet.

I want to hear about your trip though!

I've been there a few times before, it's a great city though I much preferred Boston :) In New York I have mainly been around Manhattan when going over there with my family. I was at a cousins wedding there years ago also(This time its her younger sister getting married!) and I have been there a few times for a couple of days. All I know is the reception for this wedding is not meant to be too far from Manhattan(I will know more after I've been there hopefully)!

For gear I am not too pushed just once I can pick up one or two One-Pieces(Maybe Synergies or V120's) or Tapered shafts with blades(probably L-2 or Synthesis). I did order some gear from Epuck.com to collect in New York(great customer service but have always found them to be superb) just didnt add sticks or shins to the order as I would prefer to see some of the newer sticks in person rather than just ordering them off of the net.

Apologies everyone for the length of the post!

P.S Damn CBA means I cant catch a preseason Rangers game.

check out chelsea piers if you can only stay in the city. most people in the city dont even buy gear in the city. see if you can get a ride to jersey or overnight an internet order.

If you want to take about a 15 minute car ride into Queens sports plus in middle village has the best selection around. Some of the prices wont match the internet of course but they do have a WIDE selection. If you want directions post your email and ill get back to you
