Are my Mission's going to break in?

I just got the 2000 Mission Proto VSI's. They really hurtl the arches of my foot. Is this going to break in or not? thanks.

The arches of a skate dont break in...its the boot...like the sides. If the arches are killing you, then id suggest some different insoles. There are a few out there specifically made for hockey boots. I think that Epuck.com might have them.

I changed insoles and that didnt help. I kind of have wide feet. Is there ANYTHING I CAN DO? I only used them once. This really sucks because I saved up for awhile to get them, they cost me $250. Now I spent $250 and I cant even use them. I bought them from hockeygiant.com. They are the 2000 VSI's. To get the size for these, I tried on my friends Missions and they fit fine, I dont know why these are so much narrower than his. From my arch rubbing against the side (since the boot is too skinny I guess) it actually ripped a big piece of skin off my foot. Please Help! this really sucks! Am I out $250? Is there anything I can do?

If your foot is too wide for the boot, there isnt a damn thing you can do. If you just wore them once, there's a good chance that they will look like you never played with them on or something...try returning them, and getting a different skate.

So If i end up getting a different skate or whatever, (i just emailed hockey giant about it, waiting for a response) what would be a good skate for wide feet. Thanks

i think to bauer boot is a little bigger

Tour's are nice and wide. CCM offers different widths in skates, so you might check into those as well.

Tours are good, but also some of the bauers are good.

MIke, I have the same skate. You did not mention if you nuked the boot! This is critical. Generaly Missions don't fit me "out-of-the-box" either. The boot will form to your foot if you bake them in a Mission Oven. Almost all Missions should be baked to fit before you wear them. Once done so they soften up as rounded systems are less ridgid than 90 degree corners. I have a 10.5 ee flat foot and the Wickeds and VSI's I have had have both molded perfectly to my low instep and wide booty feet. I use my wicked's to coach in because they are so comfortable. This boot-nuke process is free in most of your best shops and can be done a few times to make sure the boot fits. All reputable retailers know this. You e-mail me if you have questions about the proceedure. You can't do this fitting process on-line or through the mail.
