olympic roller hockey

I heard a rumor that roller hockey has been granted to join the olympics in the near future. Has anyone heard anything about this?

The olympics have a lot of "exhibition sports" that go on during the games. Like snowboarding was an exhibition sport the olympics before it became an actual sport, same with beach volleyball. So possibly that's what this will become, it IS the ball rolling in the right direction, if race-walking can be an olympics sport so can roller hockey.

I heard the same thing, as well, couple of years ago. Rumor had it that the sport would get recognition in time for the 2008 games.

possibly as exhibition games. As for the sanctioning; you must have 75 nations in 4 continents (in unison) to be granted before USOC. Think we are there yet? Imagine the language barrier.

it was a demo sport in atlanta summer games in 96, and is part of the pan am games already
