So, any news that can be posted about the PIHA weekend meeting? Hope it went well and everyone is working toward the new season.

I know for a fact that there was a meeting, and it has now ended. /wtimages/icons/tongue.gif

I am also interested to hear how things went.

They basically said that anyone with the word Demon in their username is banned from playing. They don't like the jersey # 666

That's ok, considering my recent decline in ability, I'm about to change my name to SlowAss, and last time I checked they hadn't banned them from the league yet (hi Ying) /wtimages/icons/laugh.gif/wtimages/icons/laugh.gif

/wtimages/icons/wink.gif Of course, I talk trash now but you walk around me in every game while flicking me away like a stale booger.

The meeting happened! Four teams sent representatives:
Typhoon
Growl
Breakaway
Extremes

Where were the other teams? Much more would have been accomplished had they been there.

End result, the PIHA owners and admin will be meeting for a joint meeting with XIHL owners and staff in September for further conversation.

I can speak for the Lunatics when I say that their management was having a much better time in LA. As predicted, the same old faces were there. I am glad I stayed in Cali and didn't waste my time coming back. And for those who don't know our organization we haven't missed a meeting in 3 years.

Hope it wasn't that much of a waste. But it seems that if a 2nd meeting is needed because of lack of representation then somebody wasted somebody's time. I guess as long as it wasn't yours, eh?

While I find peoples passion for the game like your own to be a great contribution to the sport, I was already at 2 meetings this summer that yielded the same results. And actually over the course of 3 years, most have had all similar results. While I applaud those who take the time and effort to not only make every meeting, but are the ones that usually help set them up to begin with, I was not going to trek 3000 miles across the country to have a carbon copy meeting with the same faces.

And yes, I am extremely glad it did not waste my time.

Thank you for your concern and input.

As there is a new league to consider I would think that there was some new business to be addressed. Maybe it had been addressed before and only the interested teams actually attended this time. Maybe I'm wrong but the way I see it any wasted time of any part of this league is a waste of time for the WHOLE league. And that does concern me as I am a part of, and do support, the whole league. There is still time to get the non-check part of the league set up and I'm looking forward to the season.
