Ever since the RHI folded some years back it has lef the future of professional roller hockey with a dismal future. The RHI was an elite league that had great support from all of the major hockey companies. It seems like ever since they have folded there have been many attempts to revamp the sport and to get an elite level started. With PBH which uses a ball and isn't realistic with the game that all of us play week after week in our local rinks. Or the MLRH who still has operations after taking out there professional leagues. The MLRH-AAA is one of the two organizations that I am familiar with the other being the Michigan Premier Hockey League that is really pressing to make this dream of having a professional hockey league a reality. I feel the biggest problem that leads to the uncertainness of having a professional league is that all of the major equipment suppliers and rinks will only go and sponsor tournaments. Why? Because it is a quick money maker and if it doesn't go well than it's only one weekend and they can learn from their mistakes. I feel that the biggest problem is national tournaments like NARCh and TORHS who have weekend tournaments accross the nation while they could be putting there time and effort into starting a true league like Little Caesars. In order to strengthen this sport we need to get away from this tournament format and go to actual games. Ice hockey didin't get as big as it is and popular by playing tournaments they didi it by having a unified structure and building off of that. I have traveled to many states and many rinks for tournaments and have enjoyed playing in every one but for the future of the sport we need to continue to support leagues such as the MPRH and MLRH because the management of those leagues are volunteering there time and effort to see the beginning of a "true professional league" begin. It seems like every season a new league will start up and only seem to fold before the season ever starts. Yes, personally I am referring to Mike KIllbreath who has promised for the last two years a league that will be the Professional League of the future. This guy is a joke and take it from me and the hundreds of other inline hockey players that fly into Michigan because of a guarantee from him. That a league run by him is not going to happen. There is my two cents about this whole pro league thing if you need more information about the MPRH contact them at www.mprh.homestead.com or MLRH at www.mlrh.com
Please continue to support these leagues they are doing all they can to try to expand the sport of inline hockey.
