View Full Version : Tour Growl Update

I apologize for not clearing things up much sooner, as I have been unable to get onto a computer for a few weeks. I am aware many rumors have been floating about our organization and I want to take some time to clear these issues up.
The Tour Growl will be returning to Sportsplex for its third season in PIHA. There was a rumor of our moving to Skate Zone and also a rumor that we were going to merge with NTB. Both of these rumors are untrue and were the result of a misunderstanding. Jason Toran (GM of NTB) and I have run a Mens Team together for almost a decade now and we put a team into the Skate Zone Mens league over the summer. Some how this equated to what eventually turned into an ugly rumor with no truth. I again apologize for the length of time it took for me to clear things up and look forward to the 2005 season.

Glad to see that the Growl will be returning. Can we expect to see most players return?

chances are the management will dismantle the team once again, dropping All-Stars left and right.
Sounds like a good plan to me!

No offense Bob, but I don't quite remember which All-Stars were released from the team between the previous season and this past year? Perhaps I'm having a brain fart. Goodness knows I've been having the other kind all day. Never wash down a creamed corn dinner with a sixer of Coors Light.

I'm not certain what this is about, except that we decided not to take Bob this year for a number of reasons, chief among them that it was rumored he was moving to Vegas in the middle of the season. As for roster decisions I believe it is our choice to make whatever changes we fell necessary to better our squad. I would imagine that our squads may again look a little different again this year. It's the way it works, we ofcourse welcome back all of our returning players from 2004, but some may choose to not play or go somewhere else. I look forward to the 2005 season.

Robb,
I appreciate your nice comments. I had a terrific respect for your Extremes minor league team, who even at the end with no playoff birth possible continued to show up with a fuill roster and give it your all. Knowing you were a big part of the teams leadership should give you a terrific reputation around the league. Good luck with school and I look forward to seeing you at our tryouts.

The guys from our team that loved hockey kept showing up. Some of us obviously only cared about winning and dropped off at certain parts of the season. We were pretty proud of the group we had at the end though, especially pulling out a win in our last weekend.

did you have the same respect for the pro team?

I have tremendous respect for Adam Stio and pretty much anything he puts his mind too. This of course includes his pro team. The Extremes were a very talented bunch who might have been the surprise talent of the league.
